landrover598
Has anyone had any success with seat re-trim kits? Is the kit doable by a oily fingered spanner monkey or do you need little chinesy girl sewing fingers?
JeffR
Very doable. When doing the seat backs make sure you nip down to your local dry cleaners and beg/steal/borrow some of those very thin poly bags they put suits in, makes getting the cover on so much easier. forkrentfitter
cling film does the same!
Mo Murphy
Dave, I found it cheaper to find a decent pair of seats rather than fork out for a pair of retrim kits. Mo
redben101
I had your old seats of you Dave and re-trimmed them and they are good as new, If i managed it a man of your calibre should have no problems

Exmoor Beast
I did mine a couple of years ago with Exmoor Trim kits, easy enough job if you don't rush it. Will
M&S
I'm considering this myself. Having had to cut the bolts off the seat bases to remove them, how do you re-bolt them back on The heads are under the foam and faux-leather...is it as it looks, bolt them on and staple the trim on afterwards? landrover598
Cheers guys, i think i'll change just the covers as the foams are in good shape. will let you know how i get on. If you see a wanted ad for a set of seats then you know it went badly

crclifford
i'm more impressed by the rather neat looking garage...all items in their place!! and yes the seats look good, though the original covers didn't look too bad..just that they needed new foam. Retroanaconda
Lovely job, any idea how hard the 2nd row seats in a 110 are to re-trim? I've got to do them for my 110 at some point, partly because they're worn and old, but mostly so that they'll match my nice Denim Twill Exmoor Trim front seats
landrover598
There were a couple of rips in the drivers seat which are hidden in the first pic. The rest of the project 90 is now looking so nice, it was a shame to put carp plain seats in it.
western
if they are the standard square cushions, they should be a easy job to recover, the back & base can be removed from the frames with a spanner/screwdriver.
landrover598
And fitted, quite comfy too
