mmgemini
A bit further on. Yesterday Margaret went to Machine Mart and bought a new tarp to replace the well holed one in anticipation of the promised rain. No rain I spent the day and this morning drilling. My DeWalt drill no longer sounds a happy bunny. I hope it lasts out the job... http://imageshack.us'>ImageShack.us This is the bed area today. Looks more like a scrap yard ! The panels are for the front all drilled and bent ready to pop in tomorrow, if it stays dry. http://imageshack.us'>ImageShack.us Celotex insulation over the fridge area. The panes shewn in the previous shot will cover this and the square sections you can see. Should it stay dry tomorrow then plenty of riviting. mmgemini
Well the rail held off so we managed to get the inside front panels fitted http://imageshack.us'>ImageShack.us It did rail after we'd finished that job. The tarp over the trailer stopped us getting wet....
mmgemini
Good news. Today we hitched the trailerto My Defender and pulled the trailer all of ten foot forward. We did this because yesterday we both struggled to move the trailer because of the place where it parked.
studmuffin
Aalco pallets are generally quite nice, had a huge one at work the other day :-) Looking very impressive Mike. Cannot wait to see the end project. As a general rule large reputable suppliers like Aalco charge net weight for Aluminium, and also show the gross and net weight on the delivery note. Weight for weight, Aluminium and other non ferrous materials are a lot more expensive than wood, which because they are a high value product means that they are always really well packed with superb pallets. Less than reputable suppliers supply with massive wooden pallets and charge gross weight if you catch my drift, even though this is strictly illegal. Just a word to the wise. Waiting for more alli. We worked at the front today. We've done more but I didn't take a pic. http://imageshack.us'>ImageShack.us
mmgemini
Well that was a big suprise this morning. I decided to check the 12N lighting socket. Out with towing board, how do screws go missing in the lenses and lenses get broken ? . Now I can't remember the last time I had a trailer on the back. So plug in and test. All worked except rear fog. Tested the socket. It's a fault on the trailer board. One less job to do. Just a new 12S to fit.... .
landroversforever
Looking good Mike. What's going in the gap between the lower panels? or just run out of chequer plate?
mmgemini
Looking good Mike. What's going in the gap between the lower panels? or just run out of chequer plate? Not run out of checker plate....Run out of 1mm alli sheet.....To be truthful we haven't decided yet...In other words we haven't worked that bit out... When I crawled under I noticed I'd left a big gap above the batteries. I haven't even any ally to cover that. I'm ordering alli tomorrow in what I hope is the last order. The "letter box" will be apparent later http://imageshack.us'>ImageShack.us Trying the batteries for space. All this has to come apart again the get the battery box finished. studmuffin
Uploaded with ImageShack.us Outer panels fitted to check fit ! Doesn't it look bare ? Well anybody got any ideas ? Looks really good Mike, but I think you are right, it needs something to break up big flat panels. I am not very artistic but what about getting some side decal stripes made up to look like the LWB County stripes to reference the Land Rover connection. Perhaps in two tone colours like black or dark blues with light grey? If in time you decide to change them they just peel off. Barry

Maverik
That wants a big airbrushed mural of wolves howling at the moon. I'd be worried of the "lynx effect".... you'd be scraping bikini's of the windscreen of the truck like bugs... - I'm now going to go away and contemplate that a little more... Trailer is looking great by the way! Mav
