Happyoldgit
At an estimated 60k I very much doubt your average Land Rover oik is likely to buy and trial it which is what happened to so many other S1's years ago.
bushwhacker
Why O why was it not looked after from day one? Based on it being a Series 1 and who owned it. Question with no answer I suppose. Hopefully it get some TLC from now on.

Our time - ie the bidding goes way over that ?? That's the gamble though I guess :0/
Happyoldgit
Hopefully it will stay as is and not be over restored to better than factory standard.

Hopefully it get some TLC from now on. ? looks good to go if you ask me. I reckon old Winston would want it to get used rather than standing around in a museum. Scooby Jim
Would be good to restore the engine so its running nicely, and to get the guts of it preserved. But as for the outside I`d just clean it, and leave it as it is. Too many get overly restored imho, you see it a lot with Early Beetles, and Split screen vans. Look great but lose their originality imho. Would be great to see it preserved for the future unmolested by an over enthusiastic new owner. Happyoldgit
I'd like to see the 'foot heater' - sounds like what every Land Rover should have! Si In this instance the original foot heater was probably a man dressed in a penguin suit always at hand equipped with rug and a hot water bottle.
