  1. I'm looking to transporting a back axle from Kent to Lancashire - but have no experience of doing this kind of thing ... I presume I need to do it by pallet delivery. Can anyone recommend a company? or give an idea of what would be a reasonable price? Would I need to tell them the weight and dimensions? (and what are the weight and dimensions of a back axle?) Any help would be really appreciated!
  2. They definitely aren't pre tuned - I know some sellers say that but at the end of the day the aerial length may end up being about right - but it can't overcome a poor installation and a bad ground. I'd SWR it and then get a friend round with theirs to test it out. The quarry guys most likely will be using a different set of frequencies if they have official radio gear in their trucks. ps - looked for you at Newark - but too many folk to pick you out
  3. Here are my figures ....... standard td5 with 265/75 16 BFG AT's
  4. I've been keeping track of mine for a while - I'll post up some figures when I get home from work.
  5. I went to Newark this last weekend and have a friend who seems to crawl under every land rover we came across... after a while I decided to join him and was surprised how many were full of dried mud and dirt underneath.. After every off road trip I jet wash the under side of my landy - but there were ones there that despite having had money spent on them were a terrible state underneath. Is it a minority that cleans them underneath or did I just pick a bad bunch to crawl under? Are they just not bothered about trying to prevent corrosion or is it seen as a bit of kudos? baffled me as I love my truck and that means I want to look after it..
  6. I'm going to order a set of these Insa's - can't argue with the price!
  7. That's great info! Here's one for sale .... If you could compare the lengths for me it would be a huge help. As I already have the heavy duty Defender drag link I'm hoping I can use it without having to spend again.....
  8. Is the Disco drag link the same length as the Defender one? I have a heavy duty bar and wondered if I could just ad the bracket and use it with the disco flat arm...?
  9. I thought people with discovery's fitted Defender style ones?
  10. I found an old thread on here about heavy duty steering bars - and a lot of people said they had Britpart ones which were excellent...
  11. Mine's just gone. Left front wheel took a massive knock out on the lanes this weekend and it seems to have travelled down the arm and straight into the ball joint. Was quite new too
  12. Here is the BBC forecast .... Sun this morning then heavy rain heavy rain on Friday light rain on Saturday sunny intervals on Sunday back to rain on Monday
  13. If the back is sagging you could replace the springs. I'd price up standard genuine parts - they are a lot better than many after market bits and not always a lot of money.
  14. Defender is my only drive - and I get 34 to the gallon. For big journeys we use my wife's car - a diesel X3, which turns in over 40 to the gallon.
  15. Or tell him I'll come and buy them?
  16. Middle seat! Passengers cuddle up to you, you can also put stuff on it, it looks better and people won't break in to see what's inside... Mainly it's the cuddle though
  17. Opening the panel on the bulkhead and spraying grease directly onto the pivot rod mechanism cured mine..
  18. Have you got a picture from a bit further back? I'd love to see how it fits in with the standard dash....
