  1. First look to see if your Defender does have the welded brackets or not. Not all vehicles in the stated VIN range do. Mark.
  2. Not had a problem with the below. Apex Fasteners 494 Ipswich Rd Slough SL1 4EP 01753 528639‎ Mark
  3. Ditto, I had a great day also. Still can never work out where I am at Hogmoor though. Nige, did you take anymore lake photos? Cheers Mark.
  4. Look here and I reckon you may find your tigger Wessex Hillrunners:- Club photos -2006 photos. Mark
  5. Do you have a battery isolator switch? I've had one of these give me issues of intermitant cutting out in the past; although my starter circuit was fine. The issue was I had a mate with a similar switch and we swapped keys without knowing. His key was not throwing my switch quite far enough to make proper contact and when hot 1 of the 2 circuits was intermitantly breaking. Mark.
  6. All normal, if you have no passenger shut off the vents on the side, either full left or right (can't remember). The vent should just push back in, on 2 plastic lugs, they will often come out if they have been knocked by knees etc. Mark.
  7. You got it except the bristles are 180mm!!!!
  8. Hi Si, I'll let you know how it goes, probably 25th at Hogmoor will be first chance to try. I got it from Formseal Mark
  9. Mr Freezer wins the prize for multiple great ideas. But it's bye bye conveyor belt, hello Hula skirt. I'm bored of ripping it off and spliting the wheel arches. I'm wondering how effective it will be at stoping the mud!!
  10. Have ordered 5.5 metres of this; it is going on the Ibex to hopefully stop a somewhat irriating problem! Can you guess what it's hopefully going to be? Mark.
  11. Cheers for the replies. I thought someone might say the above; I almost pre-emtively took the p*** out of myself. But I thought I would spoil nige's fun! Have not had rostyles for years. Mark
  12. A friend wants to get a his rostyle wheels for his MGB chromed. Does anyone have any experience of any companys in the berkshire/hampshire area and/or an idea of cost of having this done. Cheers Mark.
  13. MINESAPINT, If you like the Silver painting the roof is not a big deal or vastly expensive; the southern electric and thames water ones are done as such, and we've done plenty of other silver hard tops (external only leave the inside white). Land Rover leave the old colours on the website until the new vehicles start coming through; a lot of vehicles are ordered from existing stock supply. However I agree someone trying to sell you a vehicle should know or readily be able to find the new colours. Mark.
  14. Yes!! Last time I drove 1 full tank equalled 230 miles V6 versus 380 Td4. I like the engine noise and revs, not huge amounts of torque, but still goes pretty well esp if a later 1 with sport suspension! Check for same issues as 1.8, + listen from dead cold start up should not be any metallic rattle from inlet manifold (indicate butterfly wear from memory - the fix was to fit new inlet manifold and download different engine managment program to prevent happening again - again from memory). Mark.
  15. The blade and ignition lock looked the same to me. I have a closer look when back at work. Mark.
  16. Not that exciting really. But just started showing up with these:- Mark
  17. Hi Chris, Financial year has no specific relavance for the company I work for, can't say for all or smaller companies. All our books go to calender year. Always best to try and get a deal at the end of a month, especially end of 1/4 or as you say year; as targets are based around these periods. When you go in towards the end of a month and are asked a tell tale kind of question, early on, like "when you are looking to buy" or "would you consider delivery before the end of the month". Give an answer like "imediately/yes if the price is right". Answers like in the next "6 months" or other non comital answers are a natural defense answer but don't excite sales guys. Mark.
  18. From the side line it looked like good fun. At least 1 winch was not up to the challenge !!! Some Pictures Hope everyone had fun. Mark
  19. One I saw at a few stages of build. Looked good apart from I don,t like the exterior part of the cage. Bobbed P38A Mark.
  20. My Td5 110 was September 06 and hence a band G. The tax was out in August, only did it for 6 months then and again for 12 today knowing that I would just beat the jump. Richard, there was a bulletin from Land Rover sometime ago about number of seats being wrong - can't rember what was meant to happen to rectify the situation. Mark.
  21. I pretty sure the Td5 is a Land Rover designed/manufactured engine - not sure where its assembled, although I would not have thought Italy. The older VM engines as per classic RR were Italian. Mark
  22. I got to drive a number regularly over the past three and a half years. The difference between the 90's and 110's is large. I also found that the variation between individual Td5 vehicles is big. I've had about 7 Td5 90 SW and 4 TdCi 90 SW all standard. The Td5 did for my driving which is not slow did between 220-250 on the worst offender and the best always did between 250-290. The TdCi have been more consistant between cars at 270-330, but more variable depending on the type of driving. I definately get more like for like on the Puma. On the 110's although the tank holds more fuel I never get them to go proportinatley that much further. HTH Mark.
  23. None of the 07's I've seen have had them; but the last of the Td5's didn't have them either. Stoped sometime in 2006 I think. Down to the vehicles being so much more reliable I guess!!!! Mark
  24. Try running a set of harder compound pads; like mintex 1144's, more expensive than standard pads but stop better and seem to last better in the sandy gloop. They can squeak a bit though at low road speed on light braking. I used to get about 4-6k out of the rears & 8-10k on the fronts. Mark.
