  1. I do not see the reason to do it as it all fits, i had the same setup with a 200 tdi and an lt77 and the inset front. You will have more work than you might think by going in that direction. Grem
  2. Being in the US youmight be better off getting a Dana 60 cover for the sals, it will fit. Grem
  3. It might just squeeze in, i saw an 86 inch with a tdi200 localy. I am sure there are others out there that fitted a rover 4 pot 2 1/4, which size wise is reletively similar. Getting the rad and intercooler to work might be a bit of a challenge. Grem
  4. Dont know if the price is right but i came across that ratio in the past, they seem to be off some rover car p5-p6?? If you break the cw&p i doubt you will find a replacement. Grem
  5. Watching with interest.................. Just a small note on your manifold design, since you have omitted the expansion joint on the regular manifold i suggest you keep the flange holes at the head pretty wide as it will expand and contract considerably, if you make them tight there is a tendency for the studs to get sheered off or maybe developing a leak. In the past i had seen a tdi with fitted turbo on a mag, i belive it was some sort of french landy with a huge turbo, it had the most amazing exhaust manifold made, it looked like rams horns making a neat 4 into 1. Wish i could find a pic! Regarding the actuator, you can get aftermarket ones with different spring rates according to the boost required, but you will need to fit the whole thing, funny it works by vacuum Keep it up........ Grem
  6. Why not have a chit chat area on the forum?? it seems to work on other forums. Grem
  7. Thats the vacuum pump, well you cannot remove it, just slip a bit of foam over the pipe to act as a filter and leave it there. So you are running a 200 powered series with no power brakes?? Brave man................. Grem
  8. Is that the turbo conversion that allard used to fit?? I always wondered how they controlled boost on those things, no wastegate?? If you intend to fit that turbo on a tdi, than yes it will be restrictive, plus it has no wastegate (i have a turbo from one of those conversions) That turbo is small for a 2.5! I doubt the manifold will fit a tdi. Grem
  9. Boro, if you get a stage 1 v8 axle than the diff ratio is the same as a 90/110, diff spline are 10 like early 90/110. Steering connections are the same as a series 3, if you used 90 swivels and outers then you will have steering issues. early rangie/90 diffs will fit in series axles. Grem
  10. http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=22910 Grem
  11. It can be probably done as i have seen brochers of a multitude of various impliments adapted to work with a landy via the pto. Grem
  12. Play safe and take it to the marsa guy, i did several heads at him and they all turned out fine, he knows his onions as its his daily job. Grem
  13. Yes, no 12v = no spark, you should have a live ing wire connected to the plus side and the dist to the neg side, if i remember well from my petrol days! Easy check, put a direct live from the battery and crank, then trace back from behind the dash......... Grem
  14. Take it to a ali welder, fill the damaged areas in and re skim, mine had more extensive damage at the waterways (corrosion) took it to an engineering firm who filled and patched it up nicely. Pics of corroded waterways and a pic of the filled and skimmed head, you can just make out where material was added. Runs daily with no problems at all. Grem
  15. I will be soon finding out, converting a leaf salisbury to disc using what will fit.......... i am trying, series stubs, 110/90 front hubs + flanges with discs, i will report back when everything will start to materialise together. Grem
  16. One basic limitation of leafers are the shocks, put longer shocks and extended shackles as a start, reduce the short leafs in every pack and install a anti tranp device or rod. I have chucked the paras away in favour of standard leafs, more tunable INMO. If you are going trough the hassle of finding and fitting another axle than forget the rover items and try to find a toy axle, its stronger from the start. Grem
  17. Errrrm..... physically none as far as i know, except the glass sliding and the material they are made out of. I have 110 door tops on my series and they fit perfectly. I also changed the locks to late military/wolf and they also fit perfectly. Is the windscreen set correctly?. Grem
  18. Hmmmm...... i wonder if you could use this as a water proofer for canvas tops, like the old mesowax...... i think leaving the oily bit out could work. On the other hand i think that linseed oil might work better. Time to give it a try on a old bit of canvas top i have...... Grem
  19. If you do, please let me know, i will buy the cv's and shafts off you. Well consider them sold.......... Grem
  20. My 200 blew the gasket at number 4 into the push rod cavity, chuffed like a train and stated bellowing oil from dipstick, oil filler and breathers. Whip the head off first and see from there. Grem
  21. Anything can be made to fit but i doubt it will be ideal, especially if you keep the chocolate series gbox, i doubt that the whole engine r380 combo will fit in an 88 unless a tiny rear propshaft is used..................... a tdv6 would be interesting Probably buying a td5 90 will make your life much easier and cheaper.................... Grem
  22. Is this of any help?...... http://www.lrfaq.org/FAQ.3.Chassis_Numbers.html Grem
  23. I know they are different! My dad owns a 110, i just wanted some specifics how people went about doing what i want to do, i am very sure others have done this. If not then wait for a long post on how to do it Grem PS No worries about body changes over here, all sorts of things are grafted together.......
  24. bricks on wheels tend to have a terminal velocity............ Grem
