  1. mmm i work with Heavy Goods Vehicle's at a Dealer , and we see a lot off hick-ups with can signal's on trucks .... and they are all big diesels ....
  2. i'm not a fan of Can bus technology (way to many faults/hick-ups , even in a OEM envirement) , bit this seems like a decent aproach . can you make a drawing how the system looks like when in the car ?
  3. @stevebus thanks for your offer and the time to dig it out and take the picture's , i'll pass on this one , because i don't think it's any better then the one i have at the moment .
  4. can you have a look inside , all i have seen so far are really crusty on the inside (to the point they have almost pinhole's ) the outside on most seems mostly very decent .
  5. i wonder if this will come to europe : a really cheap toyota .... https://www.google.com/search?q=toyota+imvo&oq=toyota+imvo&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyCwgAEEUYExg5GIAEqAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:eb9845e0,vid:lGfiBKuQoGo,st:0
  6. after some searching , i found a contact adress , so i'll ask them if they can supply the correct size .
  7. thanks for all the idea's , for now i keep my eyes open for a new/very good used one (i'm in no hurry as i have so much to do before i can run the engine) i did , but it is some time ago , so will check with them more regular..
  8. and only a telefonenumber , not even a e-mail adress .... and my chinese is not so good , so i don't intend calling them 😉
  9. using google translate , the chinese caracters say : " bearing" so not much use ....
  10. it is , it seems it just turned out to be the right size for drilling as well (a very long time ago they teached me to be a certified metal worker , and nobody ever mentioned this in school ... we just used charts to look up the right size to drill )
  11. bad idea , just replace the headgasket and torque it propperly according to the manual .
  12. thought about that , but not sure i can get the bends close enough to fit (a "normal" pipe bender needs a fair bit of room between bends).
  13. yes , i found these but i have to e-mail them to find out if they really stock them (it say's "Equivalent to ERR371" , to me that means there not Land-Rover) if they do it might be a good alternative i mailed most of the usual suspect's , but nobody seems to have 1 in stock , and Landrover is out of them .
  14. hello all , does anybody know if you can use the waterpipe from the 300tdi (https://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/err6197-rigid-coolant-pipe-300-tdi.html) , or doesn't it fit behind/under the Turbo ? engine is a Defender spec so has the high turbo , the water pipe i need is ERR371 , this has a big curve in it to clear the turbo , but is no longer availeble. the one i have is very rusted inside and has a mounting tab broken off (seems a standard isseu with these) this is the one i need : https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-ERR371 greetings Gerben
  15. i would go with the old spec , and change the collapsable spacer for a solid one .
  16. bearing cup and steel balls , so doubt it wil work .
  17. have a good honest look at the parts when you open it up , a lot can be reused without much trouble . you could just rehone the bore's using a flexi hone and put new rings in them instead of having it rebored by a shop . if the cam is still good (all the measurements are in the manual) just reuse it and put some bearings in . (i had my own 200tdi rebored and fitted new pistons , i probely could got away with a hone and rings )
  18. got an answer from Landrover , not much use "Landrover never serviced the bearing seperatly" on my question who made the steeringshaft's the answer was "not allowed to share supplier information" so , not much help. the good news is that a replacement column is still availeble : QMB101620
  19. M14x1.5 is 12.5 according to this chart : https://www.toolingcenterbenelux.nl/resources/media/TCB/Downloads/DORMER_Voorboor_diameters_tappen.pdf
  20. i seem to have found the one 🙂 from my measurements i have this : outside 35.8mm or 1.40" (1 13/32") don't know if this is the correct translation inside 22.2 or 0.87" (7/8" ) this is the shaft size , not the inside off the bearing) thickness 9.6mm 0.37" (3/8") and after a long time googling i found this : https://www.ebay.ca/itm/153998864061 if you scroll down the bottom it state's the size's in inches and they seem to match . way to expensive , so i keep hunting 🙂
  21. or a off the shelf bearing with "speedsleave's" to make them fit .
