  1. i don't get it , why is the inside not bolted down .... ? now you can still drive the tire off the rim ....
  2. if it is working as it should be , it doesn't cause trouble . and in my world it's faster at sensing something is wrong with the brake's before the sensing cap does (that onnly works when most of the fluid is gone , where the PDWA works almost instantly ... it could give trouble getting air out of the brake's , i read somewhere to put a temporary plug in where the sensor is , to stop the piston moving. i might put the PDWA/PCR valve from the french car in , "IF" i can find some seals to rebuild it .
  3. i understand the working of the valve ,and i do know you can use a cap on the master cilinder the question is , do i need the PCR valve ,this reduces the brake pressure to the rear wheels preventing them from locking-up , might have something to do with the bigger servo .... bit it might just be a country specific requirement ...
  4. hello all , since the Eurover is a bit of a bitsa , i'm not to sure wich valve to fit , the french donor had a big brake booster and a PDWA/PCR valve , but the original scottisch 110 has a smaller brake booster (so should use only a PDWA valve (not shure , because it was removed before i got the car) on my own 3 door 110 , it only has the PDWA valve . should i just use the PDWA valve (then i need to find one) , or should i use the PDWA/PCR valve (then i would need to find a rebuilt kit i think) any thoughts ?
  5. my former 2.5NA did the same thing , so i suppose it works that way
  6. might be the rear oil seal on the gearbox , assuming you don't have ATF in your transfer box ! first thing to check is if the breather's are open ...
  7. i use a Engel MR040 (don't know what the "eclipse" model is ) and very happy with it , when not in use on the move , it double's as a extra freezer at home . great bit off kit , for a decent price.
  8. being this far , i would strip it and have a look inside , if it all looks good you know it's proper. after all you do need to reshim the inputgear , so you can just as wel look at the rest for good measure
  9. 1/8 of a turn seems pretty normal to me , it's mostly the lack of preload and worn bearings in these boxes .
  10. i just use "normal" fasteners , minimum 8.8 grade, mostly bought from hardware shops. "special" one's i order with other landrover related parts from the known suppliers.
  11. looking at the manual it states for the layshaft 0,025mm endfoat to 0,025 pre load . mainshaft needs clearance of 0,20 to 0,26mm without gasket and frontcover fingertight ... so read the manual , it's a bit doggy
  12. have you measured the endfloat ? on my rebuilt i found multiple time's that exchanging bearings (same make and factory) , does change endfloat or preload . it seems bearings are not so hi-tech as i used to think...
  13. mmmm i seem to remember a very short time ago , some poor soul had a autobox without drive .....
  14. you could get some investment back that way 😉 "burgers on tour" and still have a holiday ...
  15. could wel be age related , bend the remaning belt with the tooth towards you and look for hairline cracks , if you see these you found the culprit ... other option (as mentioned above ) faulty tensioner.
  16. the 200tdi original had a timer relay , so you'l have to find a wiring diagram to see how it's connected, and adapt your wiring
  17. the pro is , you mount it , and then you can forget about it 😉
  18. thanks @Retroanaconda @western forwarded the adress , so i think he will be alright for now .
  19. thanks , i did find the main dealer , but he might have more luck with gibsonsauto's
  20. hello all , a good friend of mine is on holiday in scotland , and has just lost it's v-belt (200tdi 110) from the waterpump , does anybody now a parts supplier in the area of Ayr ?
  21. a petrol switch in a diesel vehicle is not going to work .... make it easy on yourself and buy a diesel switch . no need for a timer relay , any normal big relay will do , they don't need a long time glowing (i never glow mine (unless it's 0 celsius or lower)
  22. it used to be no problem , but i just read that the "War and Peace show" is cancelled . held every year in june/july in kent , thousends of military vehicle's on display , including main battle tanks from al over europe ... https://warandpeaceshow.com/
