@Claytonv8 yours is almost certainly a tomcat, I recognise the layout of the frame. What length is it? Screen wise you have several options, tomcat used to stock a bonded in heated screen which I strongly recommend (I had on in mine) if you can get one as I think the business was up for sale. Secondly you can get a flat sheet of laminate glass cut and either bond it in or fit it using screen rubber just remember bonded needs to be big enough to land on the strip where as rubbered needs to be around 10mm smaller than the strip. I took my chassis to them where they fitted the spaceframe, I then built it from there. Feel free to contact me if you need to. Mike

Certainly in Russia we put the doors on the first click before entering the river, this allowed the truck to sink and keep contact with the bottom. Even so I was still pushed sideways. Have you shared the pin off the freespool lever. The pin locates in the gearbox outer sleeve, when it's missing or broken the whole gearbox spins in the housing (this is the freespool. One of my winches (I bought it second hand) had that sleeve in the wrong way round so the pin wouldn't locate thus no drive, took me a while to find it. Mike

Reverse light. It can affect the disco box quite badly but I can't remember how much it effects the defender box so worth checking. Mike

When will people learn fords are dangerous if flowing. Discovery's etc are worse than defenders because they are more watertight and tend to float. Mike

Check the reverse switch adjustment as it can affect getting into reverse. The other thing to check is making sure the clutch is disengaging properly a dragging clutch may not notice to much into first because of synchromesh but may cause issues with reverse. Mike

Stock axles are fine up to 33" tyres. You can get away with 35's (especially if the rear is a Salisbury) as long as the tyres are just muds and not simex/trep style. At the end of the day it depends how mechanically sympathetic you are, I know people who have destroyed axles on stock road tyres. Mike

My ibex is on 33/12.50x15's and I run 30psi front and 37psi rear but my weight distribution is slightly different. The wife's 110 on 255/85x16's is 30psi front (massive pto winch) and 35psi rear. Mike
