  1. That is nice, ... 'want one' instinct kicks in!
  2. Black and Orange (hobson's choice for immediate availability) S96 now on its way from Holland 🤞
  3. Just broken the screen on mine which has concentrated my mind on this..... (again), .... think I'll press the button on one as well unless there are any major disappointments?
  4. From Google....... https://www.georgewhiteeuropean.co.uk/contactus.html
  5. When I lived in the S.W. we used a guy called George White from Derby, he and his mates are up and down the road all the time, he charges by floor area so fill and stack the pallets, share the cost if you can.
  6. That second almost makes me wish I had a Massiv to bolt it to! 😁
  7. I first saw that from another member, Anderzander, I just used it on the P38 and it works like a charm, only thing is not all spray heads are brake fluid compatible, my first one only lasted one wheel. also can draw air quite easily through the nipple so plenty grease round the thread is a help.
  8. Mine didn't need anything, it worked immediately.... and that was a French market vehicle, so don't expect any trouble.
  9. It probably is,.. and the trip might even be legal next week,... but much as I have always wanted one, (and I am very jealous of yours),.. I just have to accept I don't have the resources or the income to see it through these days. I would just go and have a look but it is 4 hours from me!
  10. Meanwhile, (like I need another project)......... Series 1
  11. I am under the P38 at the moment, couple of joints and an oil leak that failed the test, while I was under there I noticed that the brakes which were completely overhauled just under 3 years back (and passed the test very nicely) are all without exception suffering from badly cracked and split rubbers.... They were Britpart kits, but then genuine doesn't seem to be available, I am just replacing like for like at the moment, to get over the problem short term but I would like find a better solution.
  12. I think they would have been ideal for that, .... we didn't have CNC, all our units were modular sizes and we used the Mac's to build interiors, render the walls and facades and generate the itemised picking list, it was both a sales tool with the pretty pictures and a production tool for the listings,.... only problem was the catalogue building wasn't done in house, in those days that was quite an expensive overhead. This was me just over two years ago, I went with the Nokia 7+ and a case, but looking again now it seems things are indeed closer. I am going to try a wireless charging adapter I have ordered to try and keep the Nokia going a bit longer, and if that doesn't work I'll go with the Doogee S96 Pro as well I think ....... (unless HOG tells us there is some reason not to) it does seem a good balance of processor/OS and features for the price, also I can order it from Holland duty paid, ... anything I buy in the UK at that price level would attract Irish VAT and be duty payable.
  13. I have never gone back to Apple having had a couple of their early desktop machines in the late 80's, .. at the time they had a useful WYSIWYG interface and we had interior planning software that was developed for them. I have avoided Apple phones, particularly since they admitted tampering with the performance of ageing phones.... is that still an issue?
  14. Just re-visited Techradar et al this morning and my vote goes to the Doogee S96 Pro FWIW. Good luck with your repair, I see they nearly always use a hotplate now to soften adhesives before attempting to take things apart.
  15. This is something I struggle with too, ... currently nursing a Nokia 7 plus along while I can still charge it, it used to live in an armoured case but got dust and grit in the charging port USB C connection, which wasn't sealed, the local phone shop charged €90 to replace the USB C port (apparently it is one of the more difficult phones to take apart) and managed to mess up the microphones while they were in there. That was over a year ago and the replacement USB C port is now tricky to get successfully connected, I often come back to the phone to find it no more charged than when I plugged it in. I 'manage' the drop risk by always wearing a small paracord lanyard and clip and wearing the phone in my shirt pocket, (don't need to unclip to use or answer) I have even altered a couple of my everday shirts to enlarge the pocket to improve security. I have been looking at the Techradar site and the like to see what comes next, there seem to be three regular players Blackview, Doogee and Ulefone, and occasionally a CAT phone in the top 10 if the price doesn't put you off. My current Nokia is on the generic Android OS and has been updated regularly and I had assumed that these phones would too?
  16. .... that there is the nub of it, you need to pay the right price for higher mileage examples. I also think each type of vehicle has it's own age of maturity where the equation moves away from one of pure age and mileage, to one of condition driven value.
  17. Please don't scrap it........... in this house that would go on the wall as a work of art! 😲
  18. Coincidentally, ..... theres this for peeps wanting an 8x8 fix
  19. Just had a chuckle reading this thread I don't think I saw it first time round........... I remember going to Earls Court for the Motor show about 1976, ... on the Jeep stand , I remember the salesman telling us the engine (an I6 I think) would run on almost anything and listed parafin and kerosene among them, we didn't order one .... but I think my Dad was a bit tempted
  20. Please be reassured I have huge respect for the Royal family, ... and their loss, ... at the same time some of the detail is of huge interest and I like to think the Duke would be the first to understand that interest. It isn't intended in any way to be tasteless, I am sorry if that appears to be the case.
  21. First thing to say is that the temp guage on a D2 doesn't reflect reality, that is to say that your actual temperature could vary quite a bit from normal but until it exceeds a certain limit the guage will stay centred, not helpful in these cases. The next two things I would check on are smell of exhaust in the coolant, or signs of gas bubbles, and the condition of the top hose. Recommend you remove the top hose entirely and check inside for delamination, it is quite likely to be age hardened and may have a problem. It is some time since I had a D2 but stick around there are one or two proper specialists on here who may have more insight.
  22. I think instead of foam they use a sort of padding, I find 'Martrim' are very helpful on the phone and would be a one-stop shop for all that sort of thing.
  23. The only thing strange when I filled in the 'link' fields was that the title disappeared?
  24. Something going on here............ https://www.donedeal.ie/vintagecars-for-sale/land-rover/27860482 There is an appealing sense of humour in the text but I think there is some key missing information.
