  1. i know people say dont but i put a bit of silicone sealant on the p gasket before i assembled it chris
  2. this is the one at the hythe looks tidy from driving past its a m plate aint it just lift the bonnet look for a turbo i would think its got a 300tdi lump chris
  3. no probs mate mine was 3/4 full of egg yolk which was floating and blocking the diesel supply ,chris

  5. when you say changed the fuel filter did he clean out the sediment filter under neath next to the fuel tank when mine started losing power this sediment trap was full of a egg yolk substance similar to a liquid wax not sure of the temp diesel waxes at chris.
  6. sorry mate should of explained i wondered if it had anything other than a lr engine put in it i think there is a 2.8 engine for the disco someone will correct me if im wrong chris

  8. the p gasket will leak a fair bit but there is a core plug hiding behind the water pump have a look when you strip it out to replace the p gasket
  9. i keep hiting mine on branches but there too big to put under neath so ill eventually change them for square but if thay hit the spots then thay will hit the beacon bar so i cant win chris
  10. if its leaking fuel air is getting in hence your problem get a new lift pump not expensive
  11. ill second that i tightened one on a perkins prima fitted in a maestro van and snapped it off dont take a lot of abuse that was leaking eventually 2 washers did cure it
  12. if its from the engine its comong through the crank seal this oil would be black if its coming from the gbox/transferbox it would be either atf red or stinky gear oil is it a lot of oil or just a wte patch around the hole
  13. have you heated the washer up to soften it i have heard of people using 2 washers but i dont know if this is advisable chris
  14. ill second the halfords and also facom who have some offers at the moment i have broke a 17mm halfords ratchet spanner thay changed it no prob also have a lot of sealey professional range also guaranted .chris
  15. these look the same as what are on my disco 1 but the picture isnt brilliant as far as i know mine use the standard lr nuts as my normal steel rims i have use the same nuts .chris
  16. if i go through water the belt slips and the steering dont feel right for a while or until it dries out i roughened up the back of the belt with sandpaper and this has cured it for a while or until the belt goes smooth again. chris
  17. if your going toreplace the pump i would also do the p gasket as thay are prone to leak when you distorb the pump as 2 of the bolts go into the block mine leaked anyway after i had put it back toghether.chris
  18. if you have an external aerial i dont think its a prob someone will be along soon with a proper answer . chris
  19. yes thay are on a timer i had one on my granada estate brilliant 20 secs and the screen was clean, but do thay affect sat nav receiving a good signal. chris
  20. i have a d1 with a dixon bate detachable hitch which you can move at different heights instead of the lynch pin that holds the pin in i have a padlock as its easily nicked otherwise but can be removed in less than 30 secs

  22. nice one thats very similar to what i had come up ive got a brake light switch so ill have a go over the holiday failing that ill spend a few quid and get the evs one its still cheaper than losing me motor cheers, chris
  23. nice one i would be interested in that or ill end up buying one from evs the four halogen beacons dont take long to drain the battery chris
  24. ive ben looking at the runlock system which enables the keys to be removed and the vehicle to run to supply power to roof beacons ive looked at the system from emergency vehicle solutions for 80 quid,oviously it works when the handbrake is released the engine stops ,also if the footbrake is applied ,has anyone made a similar system using relays etc any views please
