looking like clay is this a mortar/lime mix i think the lime will eat/corrode the layer of laquer as most paints on vehicles are water based and the paint on cement lorries is normally a 2 pack epoxy and isnt harmed too much by cleaners, acids ,brick clean as you prob know some bird poop will eat into the laquer. chris
i have tried the k@n filter and paper cant say i noticed a difference back to paper now have you tried cleaning out the intercooler maybe worth a try, chris
nice one jim the only way to describe it was a greyish white sludge similar to a rotten egg but the aluminium was good inside oviously corroded outside couldnt be in a better place put it back on and gave the outside a coat of waxoyl ill check it in a week to see if anything is back thanks for your reply, chris.,
having read a few stories about this bug i suppose a sedimenter is a good place for this to thrive re a little water maybe ill clean it out more often chris
thanks for the replies about a year ago we had red diesel on a site which was contaminated with a bug apparently this lives in diesel has anybody heard of this or is it rubbish, chris
as the topic says where does this egg yoke substance come from i cleaned the sedimenter about 9 months ago. and today ive got about an inch of this muck which does appear to float on the diesel, so my question is does this jelly come from the diesel or is there more in my tank does anybody get this thanks. chris
as bm said could be an air prob have you cleaned out the intercooler and the inlet manifold failing that someone could of tweaked the injection pump but i would clean out the intercooler chris
i would say possibly an earth check all earth connections especially where thay connect on the chassis engine etc take off clean and replace cover with grease to keep water out earth probs can cause many probs chris
personally i would go for the ifor williams having towed one for about a year with a 1.5t mini digger only prob had was a tyre burst used an indispension for a while not as strong build and did appear to flex more but having said that the ad2000 is a sturdy trailer check out indespension for some good shand deals at the moment chris

after a day of gas welding my acectylene ran out is it possible to weld with propane i know people say it isnt but as i cant get a refill till monday what is the chance one told me it can be done but is more tricky because of oxidation anyone gas welr with propane
we use a hand crimper made by gates not the best but thay do the job the other option is contact pirtek and find out their supplier of their hydraulic crimper a pro piece of kit even with the gates crimper ive had ends blow off but not hoses made up by pirtek
has anyone done this looking in britparts catalogue thay do a direct replacement for the front silencer basically a straight through pipe thay claim more power and better fuel economy has anyone replaced theirs with this your views please chris
as les said plasticoat is ok but you need a lot of coats to get a decent finish when i left school i worked as an industrial paint sprayer/shotblaster if you have the time get them sandblasted and a decent 2 pack high build primer and go from there,many 2 packs will take cellulose without the need for a barcoat look at wj leigh paint manufactuers for some info on different epoxy paints
