  2. hello im looking at putting a transit battery 096 in the disco currently has a 072 battery which is the recommended at 550a the transit is 680a oviously the terminals are opposite which aint too much of a prob but do you think the extra amps will help cold cranking in the mornings any views please the 096 is 12mm longer so will fit chris
  3. i know it sounds daft but we have several jcbs and if the heater fan is running and you turn the engine off it will continue to run for a few seconds oviously the fan motor supplies enough power to keep the stop solenoid open just a thought chris

  6. i know its not the same we often take the hydraulic filters out of jcbs to find swarf and once a piece of metal the size of your thumb nail stuck to the magnet, its normally on new machines which is ok until a piece gets stuck in a spool valve can be interesting/ dangerous,is there a filter in the tank or in line this maybe from new its not very often a pump goes wrong thay will just lose pressure we have some machines with 9000 hrs and there still working ok with a good pressure you may find this has not done much work and it could be from new chris

  14. i would still say that there is a earth fault somewhere does it turn over ok ,if it does then the earth to the engine is ok have you checked the earth to the body behind the battery presuming its the same as mine earth faults can cause a lot of hassle once you have cleaned them cover with grease etc but not between the metal to metal .chris

  17. i think if you lift the carpet up there is a cover in the centre of the floor held down by self tappers remove this cover to expose the top of the tank and i think you can remove the fuel gauge sender unit to access the inside of the tank unless its stuck in the 90 degree bend chris.
  18. i always thought if air is present in a gas cylinder there is a risk of explosion when we work on a live gas connection/main if air enters a main all breaks loose pilot lights in houses are turned off as there is a risk of explosion if air enters a gas main is this true for cylinders.
