  1. Looking on google all the pics I can find of 'Heritage' Land Rovers are station wagons and have a different grill to look 'olde worlde'
  2. I thought the TDI had been replaced with the TD5 a few years before that (unless it's a ROW spec). It's concievable that he is totally disorganised and never kept any of the service paperwork .... DVLA describe it as a WHITE LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 HERITAGE Was the heritage a special edition? and was it available as a hard top?
  3. I'd be a bit worried about carpet if there was a chance of me doing welding or grinding in there, however if you don't try to set fire to it then the luxury of not rolling around on cold hard concrete under the landy would be great :-)
  4. MOT test certificate You must produce an MOT test certificate that’s valid on the day the tax disc comes into force. A certificate that expires on the last day of the month eg 30 April can’t be used if the tax disc is to start on the first day of the following month eg 1 May. The certificate must be original, a photocopy is not acceptable. from http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_069671 sounds like you will be ok
  5. Both the Land Rovers with Sankeys look like series vehicles to me .... http://www.airfix.com/airfix-products/military-vehicles/military-transporters/a02322-lwb-landrover-soft-top-and-trailer-a02322/ http://www.airfix.com/airfix-products/military-vehicles/military-transporters/a02324-lwb-landrover-hard-top-and-trailer-a02324/ .... but I could be wrong.
  6. it's in the existing military models section http://www.airfix.com/airfix-products/military-vehicles/military-transporters/a02333-landrover-1-tonne-fc-ambulance-176-a02333/
  7. Maybe it's my monitor but it looks a bit blue to me. What did you try at the garage?
  8. Do the hoses expand when the turbo spools?
  9. On a related note if it's petrol in those cans you are limited to the quantity you can keep on/in a vehicle within 6 meters of a building, http://www.hse.gov.uk/fireandexplosion/petroleum/faqs.htm Apparently there is no limit for diesel (other than personal fortune obviously :-P ) The rules are different for business and private but it's quite interesting to see what quantities are allowed, for example 333litres of petrol in a vehicle with just a sticker and a fire extinguisher....
  10. A fiver is a very good price for that CB, I'd be tempted to try it on a mates aerial before you spend out any money on bits to fit it as the cost of coax/aerial/power cable etc will cost a good bit more than you paid for the CB. However saying that it is a good excuse if it turns out not to work... ' .... seeing as I have got all the other parts it would be a waste of money not to buy a new CB now' ;-)
  11. I didn't think the pressure plate would protrude enough to still grip a clutch in that state, albeit I have not seen a TD5 one in the flesh just the tdi ones and they look like they would slip long before that.
  12. More importantly the scrap man has done you out of 600kg of scrap money!
  13. I can't see those mods taking you over the weight, especially as the EEC unladen weight includes a full tank of fuel and a random 75kg of stuff according to westerns attachment. Surely the weigh bridge has to be pretty accurate and probably checked by trading standards.... I'm confused by the discrepancy.... sorry
  14. So based on that you either have 600kg of rubbish down the back of the seat or the weighbridge printout is wrong/misinterpreted. I#m sure you would notice an extra 600kg of stuff in your 90 tbh.
  15. The rectangular holes in the metal bit are where the green plastic clips into it, that is where it needs bending to release it
  16. You need to remove the metal inner part from inside the green light up bit (all the right technical names here) you'll have to bend the sides of the metal bit in as the green plastic bit locates into it. Once the metal bit is removed the green bit should come out.
  17. Good point Gromit, I'd forgotten to take account of the melting wire. Pulling the spade connector off, cleaning it (and maybe a bit of a squeeze with some pliers to ensure it is a tight fit) may be all that is needed. My apologies Deface if I created extra work by suggesting the brushes.
  18. Hi, Problem 1 sounds like either the starter motor brushes are worn or damaged.
  19. Gazzar it is more likely a reflection of the market value of the vehicle, how much would you value a Puma 90 at? Is certainly a lot more than my 24 year old 110.
  20. Might be worth resetting the fault and seeing how quickly it re-appears, I had faults on my old car (admittedly not a Land Rover) that I reset after making a note of them and they didn't come back.
  21. Depending on what tools you have available you could drill a small hole down the centre of the bolt from the threaded end to just past the middle, then another small hole across the bolt to meet it. If you were then to chop some more of the threaded bolt off you could add an 8mm threaded nipple in from the bottom of the hinge and avoid having the nipple on the side and having to grind the clearance groove.
