  1. Stupid idea time .... what if you were to heat the manifold up? Would the holes be nearer to the right place then?
  2. In a DC application the only reason for lots of fine wires as opposed to several thick ones is to make the cable more flexible physically. It's the overall cross sectional area of the combined wires (whether lots of fine wires or several thick ones) that governs the power loss. The larger the cross sectional area the less resistance and the less power you will lose as heat.
  3. That's why they make them really cheap Richard, people see a bargain and forget themselves, get caught up in the moment and all common sense goes out the window and they send their money. They make up some great stories to, like they are in the forces and are selling the car because they have been stationed overseas, the car is on a secure army base so you can't go and see it but it will be delivered to you and it's cheap because of this ...... honest
  4. Richard, have a look here for more examples of one's discovered http://busterjack.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1
  5. because one is trying to persuade you to part with your money but doesn't have the vehicle. They make it cheap and come up with a reason why they have to deliver. These adverts are everywhere

  8. I'll vouch for that not being a pleasant journey even with a working clutch, it's fairly often stop start traffic on the M25 on that section, especially if it was in the recent years of seemingly constant road works.
  9. A friend had a screwfix one which the head came off the fibreglass handle, I put it back on with some cheap version of araldite and it was fine again .... so don't bin the old one
  10. If you look on a packet of pine nuts you will find that it does NOT contain nuts ....... useless fact of the day, they are seeds apparently
  11. He's got an immaculate series 1 for sale as well .... at 25k
  12. Just something I've stumbled across and it may be useful for this thread, maybe not. Using the following format of URL you can still see the main auction image even after the auction has been deleted, just change the item number and leave everything else alone (including the -0-1 on the end of the item number) h ttp://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/181671283005-0-1/s-l1000.jpg (I've shoved the space in to stop the forum software messing with the url)
  13. Just for clarification Robert the following is from the ofcom website. Can I record telephone conversations on my home phone? Yes. The relevant law, RIPA, does not prohibit individuals from recording their own communications provided that the recording is for their own use. Recording or monitoring are only prohibited where some of the contents of the communication - which can be a phone conversation or an e-mail - are made available to a third party, ie someone who was neither the caller or sender nor the intended recipient of the original communication. For further information see the Home Office website where RIPA is posted. EDIT: The url for above info is http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/oftel/consumer/advice/faqs/prvfaq3.htm
  14. I'd have to agree with Bowie here, nothing like a solicitors letter to focus the mind somewhat. This shouldn't be your headache.
  15. Not to worry I found what I was after on the previous listings which are still there in the sellers history. BTW I can confirm that the listing was removed by eBay and not due to AVCIS intervention.
  16. Did anyone keep a copy of this auction before it was pulled? If so can you send me one? Thanks
  17. If Nige made it you'd list to one side due to the weight
  18. You're right Phil, seems I was proper stitched on that as they are only pennies on Alibaba http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/surgical-bone-surgical-titanium-screw-in_60088068147.html
  19. One of my dogs had a pin, a plate and 14 screws in his leg and the small screws were on the bill at £50 each ..... I wonder how much yours would go for Mav?
  20. You have interesting charity shops
  21. Depends what you are planning on producing, are you after artistic pieces? or are you after parts that are going to be mig'd together and covered in paint?
  22. Yeah, the mistake was listing it at all! I'm guessing they have seen this thread and decided to pull it. EDIT: actually that's probably because it's been sold and they are avoiding the eBay final value fee.
  23. What thickness of material is that Si? Any idea why the Proma THC could get confused? The logic of how it should work seems pretty simple ......
