  1. Is this for the Maker Faire? I like the set of initials to add to the project Imagine cutting that all out by hand?
  2. I used my R-tech TIG to fix my knackered horn on the 110. It had stopped working and I assumed this was due to dirty internal contacts after wading. Anyway turned current on the TIG to minimum and then connected it across the terminals of the horn, quick press of the pedal and a nice strong beep from the horn. Popped it back in the 110 and it's worked ever since. I'm guessing the HF start on the TIG was enough to break through the dirt on the contacts, whatever it was it worked.
  3. Then in which case tacr2man the best thing to do is to keep disrupting the auctions and make selling the ID's difficult. Perhaps the reason this seller has had to relist 4 times because of timewasters (I think that's what he said) is because people are intentionally wasting his time to stop him selling the ID?
  4. I've had an eBay auction pulled in the past (turned out the ethernet over power adapter I was selling had a recall notice issued). The email I received when it was pulled looked like an automated email.
  5. Might also explain why this particular auction was pulled between 1am and 8am this morning, certainly not in working hours for the Irish ebay workforce who I would have assumed the task would fall to.
  6. I'm beginning to think it is automated and has a threshold for how many reports before something gets automatically removed. Notice how there is nowhere whilst reporting an item to enter any text? It's all drop down boxes, nowhere for you to add any supporting information. This smells of a system without any human involvement. If it's automated it would make sense to have a threshold before removing things to prevent malicious reporting of auctions.
  7. I also reported to eBay and AVCIS last night, so maybe it was the number or reports that got it pulled? Not sure if the AVCIS report would get looked at out of hours so it's possible the eBay auctions get pulled automatically after a set number of reports?
  8. In the past I found reporting to eBay resulted in nothing happening however emailing the details to AVCIS resulted in the auction being removed within about a day. http://avcis.police.uk/portfolio-item/contact-us/
  9. The makers are either saying bad batch or early prototypes are the only ones with problems and they will swap them for hardened ones free of charge.
  10. Maybe we should apologise and say thanks when the site comes back up
  11. I wonder what the mean time between failures is for spud based condensors in comparison to those made by Lucas?
  12. Good point Phil, I'll blame it on being Monday and morning .....
  13. Is that for when you need more speed? Oh there's no 'e' on the end ........
  14. You've done a brilliant job there Simon
  15. Does that mean yours is going to live once more or will you be after another?
  16. Sounds a good idea, so I take it as well as locking the wheel to the carrier you will be doing something to protect/secure the carrier hinge bolts? Also possibly the hinge to body bolts?
  17. Just a heads up for any of the people who have fitted these aftermarket boost pins, have a check of your pin as some of them have worn very quickly. I don't know the full details but there are claims that it's happened to both suppliers pins and that they will replace the worn pin if you as them, so it's worth the 10 minutes it takes to check your pin.
  18. Lol, so did I ..... in fact I was still reading it as Maseratti and feeling confused till you commented, at which point the penny slowly sank (took too long to be considered a drop)
  19. So that all translates to .... buy 2% lanthanated as they are good for everything and then that way you don't need a pile of different tungstens I wouldn't worry about it too much, I assume you aren't welding everyday with them? As Robert said they are mildly radioactive and you have to inhale of injest the dust as alpha radiation can't penetrate the skin.
  20. Works fine for all your phone/broadband lines...... ok they don't use the gaffer tape
  21. Thanks Daan your efforts are appreciated, those that really want to follow the advertising overlanding progress can follow on virtually every forum and form of social media out there. It was like we'd turned into some sponsored magazine
  22. I don't really have a great deal to compare it to, however if you would like me to try a few hand held straight cuts on different materials and thicknesses I could take pictures of the cut quality for you? EDIT: Forgot to say, it is a proper HF start with pilot arc so you never have to touch it to the work piece. You can just hold the torch in the air and pull the trigger and get a 'flame'.
