  1. im a bit concerned about the harness in the last pic... it looks to me like you've mounted the back of the drivers harness to the floor behind the seat. if you have just bear in mind the direction of force if you have a accident. in short your putting ALL the force from the accident into the back of the bucket seat rather than the harness mounting. (the seat will probably fold and your head will hit the windscreen...) you'd be much better off welding a harness bar across the back of the cage and mounting the harness to that.... (in fact im fairly sire the MSA blue book prohibits mounting the harness to anything that isn't directly behind the seat) if you havent then fair do's, its pretty hard to see from that pic....)

  6. bit of rubber pipe and 3 jubilee clips to make a plaster. will get you home..
  7. for the sucking air past the bleed nipple threads issue i use ptfe tape. lasts several bleeding sessions and is very cheap and effective.
  8. the person to invent a energy efficiant and practical hydrogen fuel cell wouldnt be making videos of it on youtube... He'd be a multi-billionaire and collecting his Nobel prize

  10. this stuff http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/mvf/store/products/teamac-rot-orange-metalcote-plant-and-industrial-enamel-paint-1l did me proud, sticks like s**t to a blanket and is a nice bright orange.
  11. stick a bit of dielectric grease in the connectors. cheap and stops water ingress and more importantly keeps corrosion at bay.
  12. Im not a million miles away and am there fairly often...
  13. have you got a press? if you can make a former the right shape (hardwood?) you could then reinforce this with a heavy metal plate on the outside edges of the former and then put the material to be worked in the former, the former in the press and away you go...
  14. mine is 2.6 internally... it was a pita with my lifted and caged discovery. if you can id go high enough to put a 2 post lift in. theyre not expensive to buy these days and are so useful...
  15. no need to wait for it to do it again, if its any of the above, wiggling will cause it, which will help you find it.
  16. damaged (internally broken) wire, bad/dirty/loose battery clamp or bad earth. turn the ignition on and start wiggling things.
  17. have you, driven one? there is a reason they where what car tow car of the year for the entire period of the production of the mk1 as for aftersales, i have had 2 warrenty repairs on mine in the last year with no quibbles. now that is not particulary impressive until i tel you its done 190000 miles and is 11 years old. its comfortable, reliable, well supported, well built and absolutly perfect for towing a ifor 510 with two horses and all their tack.
  18. look at the kia sorento (mk1) ive got one and its perfect for what you need.
  19. what does everyone think of the new hilux? i test drove a invincible-x crewcab and fell a bit in love with it, its a very nice place to be and pulls like a train. some of the toys are a bit annoying (lane departure warning for example, and i found the traction control a bit too keen) but they can be turned off. the only problem i have with it is the £35k pricetag.....
