A little something i knocked up a while ago from a few bits of wood and an old car jack
Certainly makes removing and refiting a diff very easy, simply place the diff on the top of the device, slide it under the vehicle, wind the handle and up it goes
Definately beats lying on your back with a diff on your chest
Does anyone know for sure which terminals are which on this motor ?
I already have a 3 terminal + earth setup similar to this (but all black wires)
but am unsure about which wire goes where on the new motor

huh Is this the case with all auto TDi's ? I do 70 something on a daily basis and would like it to stay that way
Sounds like a good idea with all these mixed opinions
For anyone who has one, what are auto box diesels like to live with ON road? I know that auto box's works great off road, but are there any on road drawbacks ? fuel economy, power delivery etc etc
Excellent link, it looks like i can get everything i need from there to make it work Time to spend some more money and get the Onoard Air finished
Cheers
This weekend i finally made a start of my Onboard air install. The plan is to mount a tank (or two) under the rear floor, and use an electric compressor to fill it. I've got the compressor mounted in the landy but am unsure how to plumb it to the tank
Ideally, i'd like it to come on and off by itself at preset presures (the same as my compressor in the garage does)
Is there any way i can do this ? I'm using a compressor from my TruckAir which only has a manual on/off switch.
Another question is what pressure should i keep the tank at ? I'm only going to be using it for airing up tyres,
and operating the ARB locker.
Any usefull advice welcome B)
I bought an el cheapo Armstrong steering damper yesterday (£16) as i'm changing from the Range Rover setup under the diff to a defender setup at the chassis in front of the axle. I put an Armstrong steering damper on the vehicle about 9 months ago and is still in perefect working order (just a bit battered )
This is how i got my Q-plate
Build a vehicle using varoius donor parts and a modified chassis
DVLA give me a new chassis number
Book an SVA test with VOSA
Get vehicle SVA'd
Get vehicle MOT'd
DVLA check where i got parts from
DVLA issue Q-plate
Simple as that (takes a few weeks to do as DVLA aren't known for being on the ball )
