  1. Look at Hybrid_From_Hell's posts on his suspension. What you really want is higher shock mounts, and longer shocks. this allows for greater articulation, up AND down. The increased travel comes from having more extension from a longer shock, the higher shock mounts are required to fit the longer shock in. HTH Luke
  2. B&Q also do long (~7m) extension hoses for about 15 quid, completly transforms an el cheapo pressurewasher with only a 3m hose. ok it almost costs as much as the pressure washer itself but it makes it a lot easier to use. Luke
  3. No show in Sheffield, I don't think any's fallen over the peaks either. plenty of wind though, wind chill is apparently something like -12 deg c Luke
  4. Very, Very nice indeed, I've been reading your posts on the progression of all this and i've really enjoyed them. Looks very impressive, take it you're glad all the hard work has paid off? Luke
  5. I reckon it would have been ok if the wheels hadn't had a section of the rim missing (ok essential for this task). the amount of torque needed to overcome the flat section must be huge with that radius. shame though, could have been quite entertaining watching them trying to line it up.
  6. 'Stop leak' turned what was a steady leak into just a moist drip on my box. it stayed like that for over 6 months without using even half a tank of fluid. mr MOT man didn't like the moistness so i fitted an adwest repfurb. expensive, but great service, and peace of mind. perhaps i should have just wiped the seal clean and thrown some mud at it
  7. chandleries, but there's probably not many of them near you..... just googled it and there's quite a few online chandleries that stock it. Luke
  8. Sikaflex may be what you want, it remains semi flexible when it sets and sticks like sh!t to a blanket. used a lot in marine environments so it should be up to the job. Luke
  9. Wickes metal paint is doing alright after almost a year, a bit has come off on the areas i didn't prep (and just slapped the end of the tin of paint on) but the areas i prepped are doing nicely. Luke
  10. Morse Cables as used a lot on boats for throttle & gear lever linkages sound like what you're after. might be useful or here though the specify 1m to 7.5m in 0.25m steps. HTH Luke
  11. Bures village is at TL905345 Bure Pit is marked just west of the village. About 40 mins from home, so i'm game if i'm not back at uni by then. Luke
  12. Matt I'm at sheffield uni, i was in a similiar situation to you last year. I was recommended Millhouses Garage, they did the MOT and the welding i couldn't do as the welder was at home 200 miles away. This year i pre-empted the problem, and put the 90 in for an early MOT before i came back to uni. Millhouses Garage 300 Archer road Sheffield S8 7BP 0114 236 3888
  13. An ammeter shouldn't involve running high current wires up near the dash. A decent ammeter will use a shunt, so u just have two low current wires running to the gauge. Luke
  14. Does anyone have a current web address for Low Tension? The one i had in my favourites doesn't work anymore. Luke
  15. wos the fan cover, window blind, type thing for?!
  16. Les We can just shake if you like, works for me No conflict, probs solved, apologies if any insult caused. Cheers Luke
  17. Of course I don't know, but i suspect that if you'd asked on the other thread we wouldn't be here now, as all this wouldn't have happened. I think your questions had more relevance, ergo would have been answered better, on the Wilts thread. and that's about it. can we spit and shake now? or do something at least, I have no intention to drag this out all evening. Luke
  18. I read the posts from start to finish, before they were removed, and my comments still hold. You asked questions, Scorp answered them for you. problem solved as far as i'm concerned, if that was your intention, no problem. If I had been in your postion, living in Wilts, I would have posted my questions on the Wilts related thread, which was evidently open to discussion, rather than the NE England thread which appeared to me to simply serve as a notice, to provide contact details for those interested. End of, as far as i'm concerned. No hard feelings intended. Luke
  19. Les, As the replies have been deleted, we once again find ourselves in the position of now not being able to see what caused all the comotion in the first place. Perhaps sly was the wrong word to use, the point i was trying to make was that, judging by the wording of your posts, and the phrasing of your questions, it would appear that you knew the answers already. if that was the case, a constructive, insightful, reply would have proved more useful to those viewing the post. if that wasn't the case, then i of course apologise for drawing those conclusions. Regards Luke
  20. Why didn't Les post along the lines that HFH has? why all the sly questions, why not offer advice and support rather than condemnation?
  21. If you're interested in the matter raised, and it says that the author is not going to reply, why post? if you were actually interested, surely it would have been sensible to email him directly, as advised? ..and running back here to boast is a little petty isn't it? Luke
  22. definetly agree that raising the turrents is the way to gain more droop without losing compression, of course new shocks are another expense, though relatively little compared to keeping all that 10mm stock what have you got planned for the rear? have seen tubular mounts that move the top mount right up into the corner of the wheel box. tuko, like the spring locating cones, do they move much themselves? or do they sit pretty still? Luke
  23. well yeah forgive me for copying straight out of excel. call it 3"? I ran 255/85R16s on 7x16 modulars with standard suspension for a few weeks, they rubbed more at first when they were on wolf/130 rims. definitely a nice size, certainly don't regret saving the bit extra from 235/85s, especially as i was able to get a great set of five second hand ( ta Gelf) now I've got about 1.5" lift front and rear they're even better, articulating nicely. Luke
  24. think you'll have to let some air out of your potential brand new 255/85s - they would stand 2.88 inches higher than your 205/70 tyres Luke
