  1. If it's just PDFs like the version i have, just copy them across. works for me.
  2. or alu-MIG, get rid of the hole properly that way.
  3. Of course, I can get to the inside of my garage from the house, It's a bit of a different story if you've only one door to your garage!
  4. I would argue that external security devices prove there's something worth nicking. All my garage security measures are on the inside of the door, and i'm not posting about them on a public forum.
  5. Running any sender/gauge pair unmatched will result in nonsense results, they have to be paired correctly. How is the Kenlowe fan switched? If it's the kenlowe adjustable (carp) thermostat it's not particularly telling you anything useful by turning the fan on.
  6. Huh? my 200tdi has blades, so has every other one i've worked on or looked at.
  7. The lamps are usually bolted to the a frame, which has two brackets on the underside/back to take the bolts.
  8. I won't insure with NFU again, after the way they treated a good friend who had a modified 110. I'm with Adrain Flux, very reasonable, especially as it turned out i know someone who works there
  9. 200tdi (defender) manual, 3.7 MB PDF format here
  10. I sat the CV through the workmate and tapped the halfshaft in with a lump hammer and a block of wood over the end of the shaft. 'Press fit' is probably the wrong phrase, 'interference fit' is probably better. Yes, good idea to change the CVs if you're doing the swivels anyway.
  11. Les' posts, not directly on swapping a CV, but all three links show you what's basically involved. here here
  12. Have you looked at Les' entries in the tech archive? There's a few pics from when i did mine here
  13. Looking forward to having a butchers! Very nice.
  14. should do, assuming its the same output, with regards to plug/stud terminals. You may need to rotate the housing and drill out the threaded lug if it's there, but it's no biggy. I'm not familar with the disco layout but the basic alternator is the same.
  15. The screw jack is slow for starters, the fact you've got to lift the chassis off the axle first makes it even slower. A bottle jack is much much quicker.
  16. Think WVA are now Safari-Equipment Safari-Equip Unit 21 Fireclay Business Park Thornton Road Bradford West Yorkshire BD13 3NW Tel: 01274 835500 Fax: 01274 830380
  17. I order from a 'local' (well they were before i moved away) independant 200 miles away rather than, er, Faddocks. I get service that way
  18. I'd guess at either the pressure release valve failing in the cap, or the system over pressurising and blowing out of the relief valve. you could remove the cap (when the engine's cold) and then place you hand over the opening, and see if the cooling system is pressuring, which would point to head gasket problems etc. Or, replace the cap and see if it happens again!! I'd want to discount head problems though, if i were in your shoes.
  19. Definitely, I'm just surprised they left it in the tool kit for diesel vehicles, they could have saved a whole 50p there!
  20. You can, I fitted a pug/pioneer interface to the girlfriend's 306. I don't know if an interface is available for a freelander though. The CD player i fitted for her has got built-in Bluetooth for handsfree, and will stream music off a bluetooth enabled device, be that a phone or laptop - very cool
