kevh
Ok ta, would certainly be worth the time and investment. I'm sure it would not depreciate, plus the fact of having something different whilst in ownership. Kev

TSD
Firebex is an awesome truck, but if the extra length doesn't do it for you, you could go wider instead... Wallys Ibex camper is another fantastic build. The cab is wider than a standard Ibex (compare the rear of the front wheelarches), then it gets wider again for the loadbay! The rear axle is a Salisbury, with a 'long side' tube fitted on both sides IIRC. Bowie69
Well it would be new, just registered once on a Q plate!
honitonhobbit
She wouldn't drive it... It's not a D2 or an RRC. Not enough buttons either But she's jealous of my Seat Leon company motor - so many buttons and uses no fuel
geoffbeaumont
The buttons are easily addressed. Not so sure about the fuel... Sadly, I've been told I can have a Land Rover provided: a) I pay for it (fine) b) It's reliable (err) c) The house is finished () So I don't think I'll be nipping up the M5 to fetch it
honitonhobbit
When she was driving the Mpi, she wanted more buttons, so I made up a small panel with some buttons and switches on - they even lit up. Went down like a plate of cold sick Like you I have a house to finish - also have a garden to finish, garage to tidy, kids to look after, fence to re-build etc etc

miketomcat
Somebody on here may of bought this truck but I'll let him own up when he's ready....... Mike
FridgeFreezer
Well it can't possibly be anyone I know as the only person I know who might've bought it spent all last week definitely not looking at eBay every 5 minutes and telling me he definitely wasn't buying another truck. Bowie69
Nor me.... My bet is a certain hairy footed short chap from Devon way... Maybe
miketomcat
Funny he told me all the way there (with a trailer on the back) that he wasn't buying it and he said that just going to look at it was "all your fault". My work is done. Mike

TSD
OK hands up, 'twas I. And it really isn't all Mikes fault, probably only 75%. The other 75% is fridges fault, and any left over is just down to poor impulse control on my part. Not sure a build thread will be that interesting, I spent the whole day in the workshop, mostly standing looking from various angles and muttering 'WTF have I done?'. First job is to clear enough space in the shed to work on it (Anyone interested in a q plate 88" hybrid rolling chassis before I throw it out into the rain?)
miketomcat
Well at least you already know what colour it's going to be and you have someone lined up to paint it. Mike
