Stellaghost
Lifted back body on to see what the crack is going to have to remove the crosshatched areas to allow rear axle to articulate engine and box out at the moment so whole thing sitting high at the moment regards Stephen
landroversforever
Potentially silly idea incoming.... Rather than chopping that bit as such.... what about lengthening the body to put that bit behind the wheels again? I reckon you'd be able to knock it up in an hour or two

landroversforever
Given how far back the axle sits, I think you'd still be very very close to 90.
Bowie69
I'm sure you could knock up a nice extended tub, given an afternoon or two Looks more like you have 110 degrees anyway

Stellaghost
A wee bit of mock up with body, seat box and bulkhead, but first some needs must modifications to my battery box because nuke mount in the way passenger side bulkhead outrigger needs to be moved up around 12mm drivers side Passenger side on a more positive note wheel rim modifications look to have paid off, I think this looks OK, will only need to extend rubber wings around 30mm Thoughts regards Stephen

Stellaghost
Remember these sheets of 3mm aluminium from my raw materials boost, they are 110cm x 90cm going to use them to make a new tub bottom and sides 100mm narrower than stock this will keep suspension modifications outside the rear tub altogether Regards Stephen
Stellaghost
As it sits at the moment with no engine etc the top of the wheel arch is 13" higher than a stock lightweight , hopefully that's going to drop several inches once all weight back on regards Stephen

Regards Stephen With no tailgate at all, I would agree Plus, the wheel boxes are essentially decorative, anything more than a fuel can and I reckon it would go through Great idea on the new tub floor/sides, will keep all the muddy bits the right side of the interior. Have you not got anything thinner than 3mm? (Little Green Thing rubbing off on me a bit....)

Might have, will need to consult my plate store tomorrow.. I'm not overly bothered about the weight at the moment, will need to see how it performs, at the moment it's more important to get it together and see what does and does not work, lightening can be done over time at some point in the future regards Stephen

I have a sheet of 2mm aluminium which I can use, I have some 1mm but that will not be strong enough me thinks to withstand stuff getting chucked in the back also I want to keep the 1mm in case I need to make panels for my future double cab project At least with the 2mm I will minimise joints as I can fold to more of less fit the whole of the tub regards Stephen
Anderzander
Not quite following.. Do you mean the tub floor will be 100mm narrower with the wheel boxes 100mm wider? Or are you changing the outside dimensions ?
Bowie69
That's how I understood it, leaves room outside the tub for his shocks.
