Mo - no probs :D

Sticky - yes, there's still a couple of places left for camping so Chris can add you to the list at the beginning of this topic. I'll PM all the campers with directions nearer the time.

1 space in my group left

Miniturbo has dropped out because he's got two things I haven't* so I've got one space in my group left. We're a Ninety on MTs, a Ninety on ATs and a 110CSW on road tyres, so won't be attempting anything sillier than Stanage, aiming for scratches rather than dents. Any takers?

* mechanical sympathy and a desire to see his girlfriend for the weekend

Thanks Turbo charger! If the weather is dire we may go for a late room option, but keep us on the camping list ! ta!

Sticky, all are welcome. As for groups, we may need to have a think on numbers as SimonR says he wants to go too...

Chris

OK! Well we still have plenty of time to sort, will wait patiently to see what develops...

cheers,

Have just been offered 2 tickets to Twickenham for SA v England that weekend

Am actually quite jealous now! As SA v England is one of the great rugby showdowns in my book, you are excused! If I had tickets to tickets to this match, I would be dropping out too.

My geld op die Bokke te wen.

Hi all, I know I'm new to the forum but is there still room in Johns group for a Disco2 on road tyres? We would be coming down from Durham (close to Mike and Margret) and like Mike, we don't mind a few scratches. I always hope not to get any damage when driving off-road though, so don't drive like a madman <_< I've done a fair bit of laning in the past with a Freelander and recently did the Langdale Quest in the D2 without any problems (just to give you an idea of my experience).

Which OS map are you using? We might already have one.

We would probably end up camping on the Saturday night.

Cheers, Martin & Stephanie

Well, my group isn't just a laning group. It's a sumptuous mix of hand-picked rocks and trees, skilfully blended together with the finest horizontal rain and served at just slightly above freezing temperature for the most piquant sting on your skin.

Seriously, we're already up to four in the group but we are starting on the north side of the Peaks so I'll play it as follows: you're welcome to join us but I'd be more comfortable if Sticky or Retroanaconda would be willing to join another group out of Ashbourne on Saturday morning. If not, a group of five won't kill us but it's not ideal.

There's still space for a couple more campers so no problem there. At the moment the forecast is for clear cold weather (but that's still 7 days away, anything could change from then to now...)

Well we are glad that we can come along, although we hope it's not at the expense of others or making things too crowded.

If you can add one more to the camping list for Saturday night then that would be great. We shall bring the winter bags :P

Looking forward to seeing everyone. We have the OS map for that area also as we have done a fair bit of walking there in the past.

Cheers, Martin & Stephanie ;)

This isn't just any 4x4. This is the finest 4x4...crafted from whatever we had left in the parts bin on Friday afternoon

I'm now booked in the QH for next weekend. This will be my first forum trip and at the moment I don't know anyone so please add me to a group!

I might be getting up to Ashbourne late on Friday evening - if so what time will everyone be meeting on Saturday morning in the car park?

Having checked my tent yesterday I have discovered it was damaged in the last house move and is not useable. So we won't be camping, which i'm not sure is a bad thing with the way the weather has been.

However as we only live just over an hour away we will meet you in the hotel carpark saturday morning at about 8:30. and then trundle home in the evening after a bit of socialising and return Sunday morning for round 2.

Chris can you take myself and SWMBO off the camping list please.

I have PM'd Turbo to let him know.

Pete.

Welcome along Dan, hopefully groups will be sorted for saturday morning. I imagine that most groups will be leaving the car park at round about 9am. Keep an eye on the gangs thread.
