dirtyninety
So what does everyone think of this? made from aluminium and TIG'ed at the top. Do people think they'd sell if some more were made? would need to be sold at around £45 a pop to make it worth while. Thoughts please! simonr
It looks nice - but I can't tell which Defender dash bit this is! Have you got a photo of it fitted? Si
steve200TDi
It's the bit that the speedo and gauges fit onto! It's great idea, I've replaced mine with a metal option, as the little ears broke off. Unfortunately Raptor engineering also thought it was a great idea and already sell a product like that here: http://www.raptor-engineering.co.uk/defender-s111-binnacle-mount Steve

Maverik
Great piece of work, I nearly made one myself after begrudging the cost of a metal replacment, but didn;t have time so I got a Raptor one for the Camel. The 90 still needs doing. Probably not worth producing unless you can undercut raptor.
landroversforever
I've got the raptor one in the workshop waiting to be fitted when the truck goes back together.
reb78
It looks good. At ~£45 it would be priced the similarly to the Raptor unit. The bit i am crying our for is the binnacle itself - the bit that holds the guages and lights. Mo gave me a spare one, but they do tend to crack. A metal one would to go with the metal mount would be great IMO/ More technical to make, but i reckon there would be a market. I'm not sure i have the skills to knock one up myself, but i might give it a go (would never be able to do it commercially even if it was good enough though as i daresay it will take me months!) No I don't think it would be that difficult to make...Not commercially though. When I built my Sunbeam rally car I made the whole dash. How about thinking GRP instead of metal ? Orgasmic Farmer
I made my own by folding up some tin plate. Alloy would be nice, but anything is better than the brittle plastic thing as standard.
