David Sparkes
What on earth are Pine Nuts? Don't burn the pine nuts Ayla. Ayla: I never burn the pine nuts. Hmmmm In the case of the overdrive I suspect it's the translation of a technical term that's gone awry. HTH
Tanuki
I'm betting "pine nuts" is a mistranslation of Cones. [the cones being the conical friction-linings on the clutch within the O/D]/ Either that, or the guy's employing Squirrels to do the rebuild !
CwazyWabbit
If you look on a packet of pine nuts you will find that it does NOT contain nuts ....... useless fact of the day, they are seeds apparently
HoggyN
Aren't pine nuts the ones that make your mouth taste like you have been welding galvanised steel without proper fume extraction?
HoSS
Very nice in a rocket & parmesan salad, not much use in an overdrive.
landroversforever
Very nice in a rocket & parmesan salad, not much use in an overdrive. I agree, lovely when toasted and tossed in a salad!

Soren Frimodt
Haha this reminds me of something that happened some years ago. A mate of mine, not so skilled in the art of the English language, was looking at buying a new block for his 4,6RV8 and was therefore consulting me and sending me links to suppliers. The thing was that he used Google Translate, so the links I received were also translated. Then while reading through some of the weird Danish it had spit out, it suddenly said "Skimmed Milk" in Danish! I got all confused until I realized they had probably written something about the block being 'skimmed' and Google thought it was Skimmed Milk Entertained me for several days

Anderzander
I used babel fish to translate a Japanese motorcycle manual years ago - and it translated 'Suzuki' into Sea Bass ..... I never did get past being a bit freaked out by that.
HoggyN
That reminds me of a Turkish chap who asked me where he could get a pillow for his haddock. He really wanted a pill for his headache.
