Cornish Rattler
Hi guys Soon we are going to start stripping down a 1971 s11a swb to restore on a new chassis its original colour is Bronze Green but at some point in its life it was professionally re-painted in limestone but can't decide wether to put it back to its original colour or keep it limestone, what do you think Graham
DavidW
The way these seem to be appreciating, I'd go original. Wish i had one....
GW8IZR
Deep Bronze Green FTW as the yoof say.. Actually I dont know if they still say FTW as it might be a bit old now innit...
L19MUD
FTW? Yes go original. I bought straight (but by no means perfect) 2a for £1,600 4 years ago and it has needed very little except maintenance in that time. I think I would struggle to find one for the same money now
GW8IZR
FTW for the win, someone wrote it to me the other day and I had to look :-)
Cornish Rattler
Cheer's guys i'am not too fussed as I like both colours but son likes it in limestone as it is now, think its one of those things we will have to decide on when we get to the stage of painting the insides of stuff that's going back on. I will open a new thread once we start the restoration
Ratty43
Massive red! No longer mine but I restored the (hopefully) attached Series III and for looks it ticked every box in my opinion. Although a little lad once said 'look at that big pink truck mummy!' I couldn't work out if it was a compliment!
De Ranged
I'm going to put a vote in for limestone.... but I'm bias'd, dad had a SIIa 109" that was that colour and I have it now lol
Snagger
I'd say green, purely because of it being original and therefore better for the providence of the car and its value. Remember that the only car that didn't sell for a fortune on "For The Love of Cars" was the one where they changed the colour...
missingsid
Limestone but I'm biased. FTW, when I was a youth and biker is F*** The World! I was going to have the reg M5 FTW for my beemer as it only did 16mpg but thought it a bit difficult to explain to customers! Least my D3 has LPG for it's 13mpg! Peaklander
Painted my S3 in masai red with limestone roof, sides and wheels. Drove my daughter to her wedding in it - both looked great!
GW8IZR
FTW, when I was a youth and biker is F*** The World! I might be more careful where I use that then..... Then again ... FTW! :-)
