  1. Errrm maybe!! As an angler I use glycerine to stop line freezing to rod rings and so it seemed a logical progression to try this with Defender door seals! I have not tried vaseline for this, but it might work. Your local supermarket normally has glycerine in the cake ingredients section - a little goes a long way!!!
  2. Also a light smear of glycerine on the door seals stops them freezing. A couple of years ago both front doors were frozen shut and I had to climb in via the rear door.
  3. Might be better in the snow if you took the wheels off and slid it on the chassis rails!
  4. To be honest I think the military snow cover OTT for the UK, but maybe in the depths of winter... ?? you never know! Something like this would probably stop most of the issues with snow build up.
  5. What's the timescale??? I will be passing HH a week or so before Christmas and could divert. I will then be going to Worthing Christmas Eve and could drop it off en route.
  6. My old 30 TDI H/T had a centre seat. It could be inconvenienient and cramped and so I am far happier with my TD5 with a cuby box (plus 2 Exmoor Trim fold up seats in the back!!!!
  7. What you do at pay and play sites is one thing. Helping stranded motorists is another. I would assist a motorist from an upside down car and make it safe by turning the ignition off and disconnecting the battery (and in fact I have done so). I'll happily tow strugling BMWs up hills. I leave ditched or crashed cars alone - I'd only make an exception if I thought the car was likely to cause another crash if left.
  8. More importantly where would you attach the rope to on an ordinary saloon car stuck in a ditch?? I don't mind assisting when someone can't get up a hill, but that's about it!! What if you damaged the car during recovery?
  9. It might be worth trying Hiscox 0845 213 8448. I would however recommend that you have a written Risk Assessment that you can submit to insurers.
  10. I don't like it, but I suppose it kind of fits in with other modern Land Rovers....
  11. Wow - love the panoramic windows!!
  12. I went to see the soldiers, row on row on row, And wondered about each so still, their badges all on show. What brought them here, what life before Was like for each of them? What made them angry, laugh, or cry, These soldiers, boys and men. Some so young, some older still, a bond more close than brothers These men have earned and shared a love, that's not like any others They trained as one, they fought as one They shared their last together That bond endures, that love is true And will be, now and ever. I could not know, how could I guess, what choices each had made, Of how they came to soldiering, what part each one had played? But here they are and here they'll stay, Each one silent and in place, Their headstones line up row on row They guard this hallowed place.
  13. AAargh! Hello Noddy your car is here!!!!!
  14. Frank is posting occasionally on a certain other LR site and as far as I know from pm's from him on Fishing Magic he is fine. I believe that he no longer posts in LRA.
  15. If you have too much money http://www.defenderdemister.com/ I'd consider fitting them if they were a sensible price!
  16. If Firefox is giving problems - just reinstall it. It will keep your bookmarks intact.
  17. Well if you have nothing to do for a few days you could try restoring http://www.ebay.co.u...215817130066531
  18. How many points for towing a G-Wizz??
  19. It's not that bad and IMHO looks neater than the Puma!
  20. Heated seats are pretty good whilst you are waiting for the heater to warn up.
  21. Just goes to show that the whole thing is not properly thought out and not the result of proper research.
  22. Errm Les this is the Defender forum!!! I think my TD 5 might have been converted to coils alreaddy!! :hysterical:
  23. It would help if you stated your location in your profile. I have heard good things about Gigglepin near Tonbridge, Kent, but this might not be much use to you if you are in the Outer Hebrides!
