  1. My friends seemed to rev a little quicker.
  2. What would need to be done to fit an earlier style cross member to a Td5? is it just tank mounts that would be needed?
  3. Its a box section so you'd have to cut it open and insert crush tubes, which would be awkward to do unless the tank was dropped to do it.
  4. Apparently its sold under this name in the UK: protectakote.co.uk
  5. I was about to post the same - I've used hammerite stone chip in an aerosol. It goes on really well if you warm it up and has a nice factory look to it.
  6. My 80" has a rebuilt standard set up and will lock up all 4 wheels, more powerful brakes would only do the same with less pedal pressure and probably reduce feel.
  7. I'm sure there are people here who can help - but I'd really recommend posting on the series one forum too: http://www.lrsoc.com/forum
  8. Here is the thread I mentioned - the post about problems swapping ECU's is mentioned on the linked page.
  9. There are people who can re-map it for you. I think they solder in a socket for a flashable chip. Sometime ago Porny, the resident expert, made a post about the difficulties that can occur by fitting a later flashable ECU into the earlier set up - a search might reveal the post if you were interested. On another issue I want to re-map mine and would love for the anti-stall to improve not sure if it will, though a smoothed out curve might help with the transition from anti-stall to throttle?
  10. Do a search: there was a thread about them just recently.
  11. Page 17 of the manual in the link shows the PTO in a side view with the relief valve and locking nut - its on top of the pto. You'll get at it from the access panel under the middle seat - release the nut and screw the valve in to increase line pull.
  12. Thanks Dan - I'd been on there - but with not knowing what parts I needed I wasn't sure what parts the search brought up were for the 'eye' end. Plus I wanted to know the sequence of the parts in assembly. Thanks Ralph! - just what I needed.
  13. Can anyone post up a picture of the parts and numbers I need for the pin end of a Defender steering damper? I need to replace them - but am not sure what parts and in what order they fit.... Stephen
  14. Are you referring to the IRB kit here? ie they now come with a bung rather than a replacement pipe? I hope not! It was the pipe that seperated it from the competition. The material of the induction pipe seems largely irrelavant other than aesthetics - and other kits have bungs too... I thought the pipe replacement helped it look professional too. I hope I've misread your post.
  15. Any idea when that will be Paul? I've a trip planned, with few days already booked in a B&B, in 2 weeks - I'm really hoping its done by then ....
  16. What did you go for in the end? welding?
  17. Sounds like a cracking idea this. Perhaps I could just have a tyre place break the bead and pour them in?
  18. Do a search Mitch - there is loads and loads on Suspension
  19. That would be the ideal solution .......
  20. Thanks for all the info guys - I'll see what I can put together and post up the results.
  21. Thanks I'll have a look - and look for a little voltage regulator too then.... It would be nice though if there was an integrated solution.
