  1. they often come up on ebay for anywhere from £50-£450 depending on size spec etc... search ebay for eberspacher and that should turn a few up mike
  2. Hi Anyone got a number for the crank rear oil seal on a 2.25 petrol from 1984? a rather worrying amount of oil came out when i took the slave cyl off Ta Mike
  3. nope you just replicate the original panel in treadplate , stick your floor panel on the treadplate, draw round it, mark screw holes and cut it out with a jig saw mike
  4. I have wing tops plated so i can walk on them to get at the roofrack, i also have the whole loadbed of the 3 dr 110 treadplated up to the level of the top of the tub... why? so i can park on the hill and jet wash it out! also i regularly move engines and gearboxes bricks etc so the original floor got trashed Also i get it at trade price and have access to a guillotine and press brake :) I dont particularly like it when used for bling, never understood people using it for bodywork when its cheaper just to get some 16g ally sheet!?!? mike
  5. as above the traditional method is to always start with the wheel furthest from the master cyl then work closer
  6. Hi Have a look in the back of the bike mags, there are a few wheel specialists who can work magic with alloy wheels, got to be worth a phone call? Mike
  7. Hi Just a few thoughts from my own experience of restoring my 110 and my sisters 109, wifeys mini and a merc 190. Firstly, despite access to a comprehensive workshop, (I have too..) you may find you run into trouble with a tight deadline like that, there is a saying 'Faster, Better, Cheaper, pick 2' To do your project in a few months will ideally mean you need to spend more on your car in the first place, BTW the tax exempt ones fetch a serious premium! and you'll want fairly deep pockets to get parts etc... my sisters 109 cost £500 to buy and has so far cost a further £600 in parts. Also at the risk of being shot, and despite being a die hard landy fan myself, are you sure a series 3 is what you want? daily driving will get expensive in fuel and other running costs, you might also want to get some insurance quotes too, when I was 21 I was quoted £5000 3rd PT&T to insure my 110 for £4000!!!!!. A lot of people get a cheap car like a clio or something and leave the landy for playing at the weekend, also its less of a pain when you break it offroad and can still get to work on monday! My advice for what its worth would be to get a runabout to use daily and your series 3 then you are under no pressure to restore it, you can then take your time and do it properly, and end up with a really nice toy at the end Mike
  8. even better you can get the people who are doing your rollcage to put seatbelt anchors on the cage, Mike
  9. its a state of truck completion where the rate of new ideas/modification is greater than the rate of actual work done, add in the 'waiting all day for parts that never show up because parcelfarce are lazy t**s' factor and the 'rarity of parts/materials' constant and there you have it
  10. Hi Jim from memory it was about the same price as paddocks was at the time, er about £370 ish possibly? IIRC it was about £15 more expensive than paddocks but they do have a 2 year warranty on them. Best thing to do is give them a ring as they are a bit 'old school' and dont seem to like the internet number is 01924 404112 Mike
  11. forgot to say, the engineer even rang me up on my mobile at half past six in the evening to tell me in great detail exactly what had happened to the turbo, and how i could avoid it happening in the future (er... not let large chunks of metal drop into the induction impeller ) mike
  12. Turbo Centre in Wakefield, here, can totally recommend their service, they were very helpful when my turbo died, i posted it off to them, and it was back with me 3 days later looking brand new, they have all landy turbos on the shelf if you want to get one quickly. HTH Mike
  13. merry christmas and happy new year!! hope you all have a good one! mike
  14. I will be spending it supervising vanny with a shotgun until he has finished my rewire ready for the MOT, tech article on a 110 full rewire coming up
  15. hi the jate rings attach using the hole where the existing lashing eye is bolted, when you go off roading attach your bridle before you get stuck then you wont need to go crawling through mud to attach it... just bungee it up out of the way on your xmember mike BTW i'd still put a nato hitch on with a big spreader plate BOTH sides of the xmember and dont forget the 2 nuts on each bolt!
  16. MSR all the way! they even tested them using a fire engine! Mike
  17. Hi Mo Field and Trek are ok depending on the staff member, i'd avoid millets and Blacks as they tend to be a bit like PC world/Halfrauds etc, theres a shop called 'Outside' in Hathersage that you could ring, they have a website here, they know what theyre on about! HTH Mike BTW I used to sell them too and second all of the above!
  18. i can recommend snugpak, they are really nice and not as expensive as eg Rab, mammut are also good, if you want the ultimate in comfort you cant beat Rab. HTH Mike
  19. if I was you I would ring him and arrange to meet somewhere other than your house, and dont give him your address, it sounds a bit more genuine that he is willing to speak on the phone? take a couple of burly mates with you Mike
  20. lol just threaten to paint it lime green and day glow pink stripes if they dont shut up... the neighbours next to my grans old house where i worked on the landys etc have always complained about the cars outside and noise etc, they even complained about the truck last weekend which i was using to move to my new unit!!!!!! i just told them I was moving out so I could use the space for my heavy metal band to practice Fridge looks like your planned area is 36.5 sq Metres, sounds like you might need to lose some width? Mike
  21. hi uroglass here for £156 all in... maybe worth a call to him for bulk discount? Mike
