  1. Sorry to hear about your motor going walkies will keep an eye out as i'm not to far away!!
  2. They do like to put the woolies up people!!! Few years back i bought a transit that had tinted side windows @ the front. got tugged & told there to dark remove them. When i replied have you got your light metre on you with certificate to check properly, he looked at me & replied it's not working at the moment but i'm telling you their to dark! Remove the tint or i'll nick you! My reply was your word against mine & you can't prove it so leave me alone. He then started looking at the tyres! being a mobile tyre service i replied, Have i got cnut on my head to which he laughed! said good point & i carried on with my day!
  3. Yes & if you have original steel rivets with domed heads then use grinder first to cut off the domes, Then punch through.
  4. Sounds alot of work for a x member?? When i done mine i reoved the rear floor & supports & i had loads of room to work in and around.
  5. Looking at the flow chart all modified landrover's for offroad use are exempt?? Or am i reading that wrong??
  6. I have now edited my post to explain how to convert disco one to defender one
  7. I've got the NTC9070 on my 90 which apparently is no longer available! Tried landrover dealers / specialists / scrap yards etc etc, no one could get one or had one. Spoke with very helpful chap at one of the landrover specialists explained the problem i had. The very nice man told me how to change rear cover from mine to a disco one which was the same barring the pipework. saved me a fortune & have done it again so now have good spare . The disco ones second hand cost anything from a tenner but you try getting the one i need for that?? you looking at minimum of about sixty notes second hand. I had a spare disco one kicking around so done what he said & all sorted in ten minutes fitted to the 90 & have had no problems since!! Here's how you do it!! NTC8288 to NTC9070 Place NTC8288 into vice with the large nut & the top, remove nut & keep "O" ring from under nut with it (there is a sprung loaded pin that will pop up out the hole, you can revove & refit later). Remove rear tin cover of pump by tapping with rubber mallet backwards, keeping it square whilst removing. Once removed you will see the large "O" ring that the cover seals itself on. Do the same as above to the NTC9070, then refit the NTC9070 rear tin cover to the internals of the NTC8288 the opposite to how you removed it. refit sprung pin back into pump, refit large nut & small "O" ring over sprung pin and do up. Swap front belt pulley & mounting plate from your old knackerd pump to your new one that you've just made & job done. (little tip for this ancrack all these bolts before you do the rear cover swapp)
  8. Hi Guys looks like you are in for a god day, shame i can't make it as i will be helping marshall the Rochford & Essex 4x4 club that day. Best of luck & hope the new tyres work well for you Andy!! Just about dried out this afternoon!!
  9. Yes fitting smaller tubes can be done if needed. If you are putting van tubes into 4x4 tyres this is ok but! like it has been said already the rubber isn't as thick (strong) so you will get more punctures. If you get the proper tubes you won't have a problem!
  10. Didn't use any on mine when fitted the upgraded kit never had a problem.
  11. Watching with interest as mines doing the same!! only fitted new one less than six months ago and not done alot of miles. Valeo 130 cluth & p/plate fitted bit paddocks sent ****part release bearing. Slave was replaced last year for brand new one when that went pete tong.
  12. Hi and welcome to the forum. Like been said before they put a smile on yer face & are quirky!! (270miles on a tank) i'd like to get that out of my 200tdi but then again the insa special tracks do take alot out of the mpg. check it, sort it, enjoy it
  13. Not sure if yours will be the same? But on my county when i had to replace rear x member. The guy doing the work asked me to remove the rear floor, This opened up the whole rear of motor exposing all the top of the chassis at the rear. Got to be easier than removing copmplete rear of body??
  14. Try this guy!! I know him & he's very helpfull http://www.essex-ms.co.uk/home
  15. Scala's are tried & tested but are Pricey After doing some homework i went for the Midland BT2's. Same set up but you can change mics to suit what you use. Open face / ear defenders or full face. Got a near new intercom set from Ebay for £149 inc delivery and they have been fine . Aslso if a mic does go down you can get replacements very easy. This guy was very helpfill: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Charliebravos_MOTORBIKE-COMMUNICATIONS_W0QQ_fsubZ292483619QQ_sidZ377262519QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322 Also have you seen these?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/scala-rider-q2-bluetooth-x2-/270633742491?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3f0307309b This may be of use?? 17. Yep i put a 130 heavy duty in mine earlier this year. It had a 130 one in it previously & that lasted 3 1/2 yrs with normal driving p&p days + comps. There all the same size it's just the material thats different. Got mine from Padocks (Valeo) about £15 dearer then standard. Pressure plate & release the same on all models. Hopoe this helps

  21. When i had to replace mine, i went to a lorry bodybuilders! they cutom make the rear of lorries to suit what you want! Loads of offcuts / leftover stock Got some 5inch wide rubber that they use to protect the sliders on curtain sided lorries, enough to do 6 arches & they cut me some ally strip's to bend to suit shape of arch (so no sagging between fixings) Whole lot £40 Bargain I have crushed wings in flat & the rubber just flex's back out again. would put a picture up but not sure how to do
