  2. Get the ibex finished......... Yes alright you can stop laughing now. Mike
  3. Oh and I got made redundant but found a new job straight away with a company that restores fairey power boats. Speaking of which I must change a uj on the pto shaft of the 525. Mike
  4. Moved house, ended up with a single garage instead of a double, my ibex is in storage still and I only managed one days work on it and I've barely had time to keep up with maintenance on 45 and the 110. Here's to an interesting new year. Mike
  5. Unfortunately I can't make it today either but it's frosty outside so it should be quite festive. Mike
  6. I have freelander seats in my ibex the only way you could fit them in a defender is to remove or heavily modify the seat box. Fridge is correct the runners are at different heights and extremely difficult to alter. However I do have disco 1 seats in our 90 and they were relatively easy to make fit. Mike
  7. I might be wrong but I've got a feeling there is no gasket it's a sealant joint. Mike
  8. Caravans and domestic trailers are about 100mm lower than commercial trailers. Quite why I don't know. Mike
  9. All vehicles after 98 are required by law to have eu approved towing equipment. So either fit it and hope it doesn't get picked up or buy one that is e marked. Mike
  10. Silicone and diesel don't get on very well at all. Mike
  11. These are the guys we used. Precision Units – Delivering plastic engineering solutions since 1950 http://www.precisionunits.co.uk/ Mike
  12. The halfords stuff only seams to last a year or so. Mike
  13. The other thing to try if you can is a different gauge I spent weeks chasing a fuel gauge problem it would move but not read correctly. In the end I tried a different gauge problem solved. Mike
  14. Spill pipes? When ours start smelling it's usually a split or perished Spill hose. Mike
  15. If I remember correctly on the sender there are two connections plus the earth one is for the gauge and the other is for the low fuel light they work in opposition to each other so try swapping to the other terminal. Mike
  16. With the best will in the world I did ladoga on standard spring and shocks with 33's. In fact the only reason it has a lift now is because I fitted a fairy 525 and needed longer stiffer springs to cope with the weight which then caused the back to rub so I did the same there. Mike
  17. The screens we had done were around 1m square and drape formed over the original screen. Mike
  18. Was your 303 full bodied original or did it have a flat bed if the later surely you can register it as a flat bed then the camper pod is just a load especially if you use two flat beds one as is the other with a camper body attached. Failing that can you register it as a chassis cab. Mike
  19. It sounds to me your dampers are tired or your springs are to soft for towing. I run slightly stiffer springs (and standard dampers) as I do a lot of towing, granted they do hinder articulation off road a little but not enough to worry about. The X deflex may help but pm simonr on here designed them so can give you some insight as to how helpful they will be. Mike
  20. We had some 10mm perspex bent for a sunseeker windscreen I'll try to find out who did it. Mike
  21. I tow with ours no problem though it's only 2" lift and 33" tyres. What is your actual problem towing as more often than not its how the trailer/caravan is loaded not the tow vehicle. Mike
  22. I though 300tdi wasn't till 95 but I'll stand corrected however it is old enough to of had an axle change so I'll stand by the rest. Mike
  23. Your truck would of been drum and 200tdi originally so you could have a disc converted Salisbury, a disc Salisbury from another truck or a disc rover axle. So first we need to work out what axle you have. If the diff pan is bolt on its a Salisbury if it's welded on and looks the same as the front it's rover. Do the calipers have any spacers between the caliper and bolt on Mount and is the mount welded or bolted on. Mike
  24. I haven't bought mags for years for the same reasons as most. I predominantly read here but I have to say I really miss the days of jez and Dan building great stuff and writing about it. No offence to those on here that do a great job of restoring or rebuilding but I don't find it interesting. It seems to me due to trend and legislation we are stuck with the same thing over and over. Mike
