Having read BM's experiences with the TD5 rear crossmember and bearing in mind that it was quite a while ago, has anyone sucessfully devised a way, since then, of mounting a NATO tow hitch to a TD5 rear crossmember so that a Sankey trailer can be towed safely ?

No Ethan please, my thunder is your thunder
The bolt is bottoming out and going tight but the shims are still loose. Is it the top flange that you bolt through that is thinner on the new pin ?

They all rust as soon as you scrape them over something hard Shop around for galvanised ones, natas, they should do the trick. Being by the seaside means you're going to need all the help you can get to stop anything even remotely ferrous rusting !

For a 3 hour weekly commute, I wouldn't change anything Pete. You're a hardcore landy driver, if you can't do a 3 hour drive twice a week as it is, you're doing something wrong

I find them hard enough to open on the wall let alone lying on your back under the landy or with your head buried in the engine bay !
Under the vehicle is not weather, it's far worse and I doubt that the rubber covers on these keysafes will keep the elements out leading to heap big problems when you really need to get the key.
