  1. Deano Have a TD4 HSE which had to go the the dealer for a minor repair. Landrover assist gave me a Freelander TD4 HSE for a courtest car. Within 1/2 a day of driving I was phoning the dealers for a price and within 5 days I had a deal and the order place. That was the end of July and I am still waiting althought I do expect delivery next week. Since then I have had a Disco 3 HSE as a courtesy car when I blew my diff. I really wanted the Disco 3 but cannot afford it at this stage however having driven the FL2 previously I would say that Landrover need to look at the spec of the Disco the FL2 is much much better in my view.
  2. The old freelander has rear parking sensors which are not affected by the towbar only annoyance is reversing with the trailer. Would anticipate the Freelander 2 would be the same am due to get mine next week and the dealer is putting on a Fixed height non removable towbar
  3. My wife had a V6 for 9 months of which 3 months was spent with the dealer awaiting on a new engine due to Head Gasket Failure. As far as I have determioned V6's had the same problems as the 1.8's but it was not as well publisised as there was not as many on the road. Have got an TD4 HSE Auto which I have had since new. It has covered 53500 miles in two and a half years, mostly hard and fast (I like landies because they stand up to abuse) and the only problem I have had is a seized rear diff which blew in spectacular fashion on the M8 in August this year. I have been waiting since the end of July for a Freelander 2 HSe which I am told will be ready next week. After the V6 the the TD4 was the last chance but it proved it's worth.
  4. er in doors had a V6 F/L until april when I tradedit in for a TD4 and she went back to her Polo. It goes in for its first service on Monday it has been great. The V6 was a pig and needed a new engine after 26k.
  5. Niall is that an avatar?.......I thought it was a photo sorry.
  6. Just remember Niall when you are home there is a 3.9 engine and a ZF gearbox waiting for you as well as a full set of D2 alloys. When are you home anyway? and do you need a car? cos my CSK needs a good run!
  7. Why not pole the members to get a balanced view. Personally I don't care where we live so long as all the familiar faces are about and the forum is easy for me to read (I am Dyslexic) but for goodness sake lets get it sorted and move on. I do agree about the polotics though
  8. There does seen to be a lot of confusion even within the title of LRE front page. "We regret to announce the closure of ......in formation is now available at Land Rover Addict..... We strongly recommend Land Rover Chronicals...........and by the way we are open for business under a new regime. Total confusion No change there then
  9. Sorry Tom I didn't quite get that could you speak a little louder!! Only joking but if you type in capitals this is taken to be shouting so please use upper and lower case or all lower case to avoid the potential for offending others. As for the problem I would guess that your is a P38 sorry I cannot help I am still driving Classic Range Rovers
  10. There you go Steve young drivers. You must remember being young once or have you always been old
  11. Disagree Rangies are nice have been driving one for eight years, mot the same one though. Unfortunately couldn't afford the new disco at the time of replacement so went for a Freebie but I still have a very nice rangie.
  12. Jules It is a 5 door. The car is only 4 months old so I am not really going to play with it myself. I think I will get the dealer to reprogramme it so that it can only be opened by the switch unless someone can come up with the solution
  13. Greg Swap? borrow instead of Yes no problems when and how?
  14. Greg Other things to try are possibly the Airflow meter or the potentiometer on the accelerator. Have you tried looking at the workshop manual for ideas?
  15. I too have the Nokia CK-7W in my Freelander after giving up on the bluetooth headset in the car. Usually found the headset not charges. Also I do not have the Nokia handset I have a XDA phone which works well in the car. Other thing I found with the headset was I could not hear with it over a certain speed usually around 60-70mph.
  16. I cannot remember switching on the computer never mind supper last night.
  17. Steve You are Okey this time I will drop it off on my way to Stranraer this morning
  18. BB I have thought of this however my window is dropping and the car is staying locked.
  19. Until I bought the Freelander i was using a Ipaq 2210 with a CF card type GPS receiver. I much preferred this to the audio one in the Freelander. However since upgrading my Ipaq to a XDA I have not been able to get the kit working so i have not really bothered as I have the kit ing the car anyway. I have used a GPS receiver mouse with the laptop, the Ipaq with the CF receiver and the Audio version in the Freelander and of the three types I prefer to Ipaq/PDA type. I do a lot of miles and this gave me the advantage of seeing the road ahead without taking my eyes off the road.
  20. My goodness it is slow in here. Just thought I would liven it up with a problem on my TD4. The rear window comes down on its own without any input from me. The dealer has already replaced the control box but can I have the programme fixed so that the rear window cannot be operated by the door remote?
  21. MG You are in luck I have a meeting in Stranraer on Friday so I can go past Steves on the way.Phone me to remind me tomorrow night.
  22. MG Is it a 3.9 or a 3.5 ECU. I do have a spare 3.9 I could sell you. Let me know when you want the bumper.
