  1. One answer. TD5. and thats from a v8 owner ! G
  2. It's a 3.5 v8, series gearbox (so that means rear wheel fun!), overdrive and range rover diffs - that translates to 65 mph quite comfortably on the M6. Thought i'd take her out for a spin this morning to crewe and back, always puts a smile on your face Although the tyres would have fitted a lot easier in the Ford !
  3. 35's on my series 2a ! For future reference. The round mirrors on a 2a are solely for demonstration - not use !
  4. Painted : See the extra top plate. It's welded to the top pin (welding was no problem to this) and then we've bolted it to the lower top plate 4 times. G
  5. Haha...not a chance ! Too much work & hassle in welding ! We added some more plate on top today to try and make them stronger. Not 100% convinced with the welding. Pump - not yet 100% sure. Currently running a zf74, but Boothy hasn't had much luck with these so will see what other options there are. G
  6. I've got a numberplate for a LR Series 2a 1970 if it's any use Sorry, couldn't resist. Although i do have a perfectly good / legal p38 sorn'd - for parts sat outside
  7. It's from a JCB. Got 8" of travel. Hubs pretty much fully welded up, just one more plate to make over the top. Decided to mount the orbital valve in the same place as the normal steering box. Makes plumbing easy and saves me changing the steering column / modifying where the brake servo is etc. G

  9. Tomorrows job is to remove the front axle and fit hydraulic steering... so a fair bit to keep us busy with What about the rest of you ? G
  10. I would, but i can get a second hand set of MTZ with very little wear for £350 ish.... 18" tyres are a problem here. If they were a 17,16 or 15" rim there'd be a lot of choice. G
  11. 35" Which in the UK is a problem to find These are 305/70R18.
  12. Hello, Ok i'll be honest and say this isn't for my LR but for my truck. I'd like to know if anyone on here has used mickey thompson baja MTZ's on the road ? I battle to find tyres for my truck due to it being on 18" rims but i've found a set here in the UK. It spends 99% of it's time on road the other 1% is driving and and off camp sites when going to challenges ! Thanks Gordon
  13. I thought Rakeway was making them ? I'd heard he was making some LR : mog shafts. G
  14. Gwyn lewis. Have a look on ebay for them. 6mm and very well made. G
  15. A RR on grass...surely that got stuck ???? Mine would freak when i drove it over the field !
  16. We'll be there Chris. Are we ready - no. Am i on land - no. But we'll be there
  17. Spend that £100 on an 'old' one on ebay and it'll be better than a clarke / sealy one. G
  18. Steve - where about in suffolk are you ?
  19. Nige, did you send him an Lr4x4 sticker ? Talking of which, how are stocks?
  20. Glad you're having fun ! I'm jealous ! boothy - did you try call earlier ? See you sunday as a spectator. G
  21. I have 3.54 diff's in my 2a and i like them. However i do have a v8 in it. Coupled with an overdriver it's alright to drive on the motorway G
