New utility 4x4?

All the best to him, I guess if he could get some military / utility contracts it would give him a base demand and a test bed.

My experience of farmers is they either have the farm truck which is as cheap as possible as it gets leaned on by cows and eaten by sheep, then a range rover for best, of they have something like a discovery commercial for both. At the £25k mark I guess he's sat between the two markets.

I don't know many explorers that run new vehicles, maybe if they're funded for research or something?

Bloke at the farm across the road from me has a brand new Toyota Hilux double cab, and his old Hilux (like the one Top Gear tried to destroy). I initially thought he had replaced his old one with a new one, however the old one turned up with a replacement bed on it recently, completely different colour to the cab, but I can bet you which one he thinks is more useful.

Given that you can buy every part on the vehicle from somewhere or other that isn't Land Rover, I'm curious as to what stops him (or anybody else) just buying up all the bits and assembling them? Clearly not cost effective at parts counter prices but if you were doing it in bulk the economics might look completely different.

There are few members on this forum that could do exactly that with their stashes...

My coat?  Why thank you!
