Best look at a seal modification then regards Stephen I’m not sure but I think I looked at fitting a seal on the outside of the knuckle face. It’s the only spot you can really get a seal in because of the land the bronze bush rides on. do not modify that bush, there is quite a lot of load on them

Bowie69
Llama4x4 will make up hoses to any length, and fitting. Be warned, if in a good mood your phone call to him may last all day Alternatively @FridgeFreezer I think used gear to make his own flexis, forget the name of the system? 1

Stellaghost
Looking to the future I have a question for my more knowledgeable betters... at the moment I have an lt177 gearbox on my lightweight, it's not the best and I will need to add the gears to change ratio in the transfer box I still have the series 2a box with a series 3 bell housing in the garage, this box could also probably do with a rebuild but was fine when I was using it, one advantage of using this box would be because it's shorter it will help with rear prop length, fitting an overdrive would also make it more usable, but I'm unsure as to how the mog drop boxes will affect it thoughts would be appreciated regards Stephen
Bowie69
What size tyres are you going for, and what is the drop box ratio again? Low range in the series box is lower, but High range likely too low -most go 1:1 transfer box ratio, even with big tyres, which means swapping out with gears from ashcroft. dangerous doug
Drop box ratio is 2:1 diff ratio is 3.54:1 if you run a 1:1 transfer box with big tyres then it’ll be “ok” on the road and give similar gearing to a defender but with a much lower Lowratio

Stellaghost
I'm assuming a series box is not the way to go ?? Regards Stephen
missingsid
If it hasn't be mentioned before, Ashcroft has a ratio calculator page where you can model this to get the best working ratios.
dangerous doug
Set up with Rrc/disco lt77 1.003:1 lt230 7.08 diffs (3.54x2) 36.5 tyre if you ran 40s then it would drop rpm by around 500. What engine are you running as the gearing will greatly depend on that
Bowie69
Sounds like a 1:1 set of LT230 gears are on the horizon....
