Snagger
If you have a 300Tdi, then you don’t need an expensive conversion - the standard parts are usually up to the task unless they have been damaged or contaminated. Standard is usually cheaper and easier to source, guaranteed to fit and not cause any strange effects or complications. Just buy good quality, like Valeo or Borg and Beck (genuine parts). They were good enough for military and emergency service use all over the world, utility companies and the Camel Trophy, so will be sufficient for any Defender with a Tdi and regular transmission.
monkie
I've always used the Valeo HD kit and never had any issues. https://www.jgs4x4.co.uk/defender-200tdi-300tdi-clutch-kit-valeo/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwwLKFBhDPARIsAPzPi-LGfhxyyY0orL6qCe1INlcAy-w5c26blRj4yDxzH108EEs_mOFfGlYaAlzIEALw_wcB
FridgeFreezer
Just to add - the HD release bearing (with metal rather than plastic sleeve) is a good upgrade, and inexpensive.
reb78
I had a Borg and Beck clutch from a reputable source. The metal centre of the clutch friction plate gradually fell apart until the clutch failed - it was low mileage and not hard worked. Valeo for me from now on..... I've known a Borg and Beck one go inside 12 months... I've also wiped the center out of a Valeo 130 pressure plate.
Mo Murphy
I had a Valeo clutch cover fail on me without too many miles on it. They're all shonky 🤣 Mo
Bowie69
Either that or you are are all too harsh on your vehicles and you should fit an auto instead

Mo Murphy
@slon4eto You are asking technical questions about a company's product that few people know the answer to. I suggest you contact LoF clutches and put your technical questions about their products in an email. They should be able to answer your questions.
