bishbosh
I need to protect my second row passengers' heads from some 20mm square box section that will be sitting behind their heads. The box has ply on the far side so can't totally wrap it so was thinking probably some reasonably dense self adhesive strip on one face would do. Any recommendations before I trawl endlessly through ebay? Thanks.
hurbie
i use this stuff to seal gaps , if you use thicker it will act as padding. https://shop.deltarubber.co.uk/self-adhesive-expanded-neoprene-sponge-strip.html

miketomcat
When I insulated the ibex I used this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283631065128?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=IkpvIq3XTAW&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=rj9sNdGlTqa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=MORE I wrapped it around the frame before I covered it for the same reasons you mention. That doesn't survive being rubbed - scaffold protection noodles are more resilient, or the U-shaped foam bumpers that some large crates / boxes / furniture ship with.

smallfry
While you are there, I could do with three swivelling scaffold clamps. I have seen some three sided clip on plastic stuff for ladder rungs and suchlike. Probably too hard though. Probably easiest to get some rubber heater hose and slit it, and fix with super glue or double sided moulding tape.
