western
A granny t-boned me into a lamp post. crikey, hope your uninjured, & hopefully her insurers are going to cough up cash for the repairs, don't let them write it off.
matthew74
My girlfriend was shaken up and luckily no-one was walking along the pavement. I'll find out the verdict from the garage on Monday.
Guest
Hi Mathew, Don't know if you know but if someone else crashes into your car the insurance company have no legal right to write off your car, as the damaged has been caused by others and you are claiming off their insurance they must repair it if you want it repaired. they will argue and say they don't but they (their member) has caused you the damage so they have to repair it. Its like someone coming along and taking your Landy off you and then saying here is 8k to cover it it's not allowed, so someone can't damage your property and then just offer to give you some cash, unless you chose to settle. they will put a lot of presure on you if it is badly damaged but have no right in law to write it off. If you had caused the acdient your insurance company can write it off as that is within your policy. Mate of mine went through this with his S1 and after 3 months of legal got a full rebuild new chassis and complete respray looks very nice!! Jason. western
if they say write-off, you should be given the option to buy back the vehicle & & the balance of repair costs & get it fixed yourself, I did with mine over 12 years ago. Mo Murphy
Blimey, it's even broken the offside trailing arm off the chassis ! The garage will have to check the chassis carefully ! Mo

sean f
Glad every one walked away, hopefully including the other driver as well. With that damage, particularly to the chassis unless it was just the trailing arm, I suspect they will want to right it off. The rear axle looks seriously wonky so all the attachment points on the chassis and axle need to be checked. Body work cost a lot of money to straighten, and they would be required to fit new panels not just add 10kg of filler, that may make repairs cost more then the vehicle is worth. See what they say but a cash pay out may be the best option, just make sure you strip all the good bits off before letting them take the vehicle (they aren't pay you for them so keep them), I suspect some one will be able to supply a set of just legal wheels and tyres which could be fitted before it went for instance. The pay out should be sufficient to let you buy a similar vehicle in at least as good a condition / mileage etc as your was pre accident. JJB Serenity
Sad to see! I got my first bit of panel damage last weekend and I was gutted. Nothing like this tho! Hope you can get it all repaired without having to break the bank.
petethepilot
I feel bad about that too... I think we should also see the Skoda, probably just a lump of metal after what she did to that poor Landy!
digger 2
It feels like a part of me died today We saw you in the filling station & felt so very sorry for you. We realised from the damage that there was nothing we could do to help you
matthew74
I saw you three times that day! Twice at the garage and then later in Yeadon Nice wheels.
digger 2
Ah we do get about a bit! The wheels were last years Christmas present-this year Santa's bringing an x-brake !! Hope you soon get sorted with yours, having had one stolen we know how miserable life is without a Landie
matthew74
I'll keep you all informed on how I get on. Should be getting a replacement defender tomorrow morning. Hopefully that should speed the process up as their insurance company will be paying the rental charge!
