Is that in any way realistic?
Diesel_90
I've owned a td5 90 with paperwork to say it was remapped to 180bhp but this wasn't a dyno print out. There's one company online that claims to have 300bhp out of a few http://www.chesterfielddiagnostics.co.uk/land-rover/td5/td5-head-stud-conversion/
need4speed
Probably. But for how long...... And even if it is, its still a diseasal

landroversforever
300bhp from a Td5? Lara's td5 was around the 250 mark if I remember correctly and that had custom rods and crank!
stuck
Shouldn't imagine my squirted 4.6 is putting out 300 BHP. (250 maybe) Can't think for the life of me how you would get that from a TD5. Even if you spend £960 on a set of head studs!
Bowie69
£800 + VAT for head studs!!! Madness.
Anderzander
Surely that's a typo ? Even if they were custom made in titanium you can't see them being that price ?!?
vulcan bomber
Surely that's a typo ? Even if they were custom made in titanium you can't see them being that price ?!? Yeah that'd be the going price for Titanium.... Still the wrong metal choice though.
Landy-Novice
300bhp from a Td5? Lara's td5 was around the 250 mark if I remember correctly and that had custom rods and crank! 265bhp springs to mind. but it was stroked to 2.8 and ran at 2 bar of boost. Anderzander
Their site says the 300bhp ones are stroked 2.8's
landroversforever
Lara's was stroked and bored out as far as possible, then a bit further and then sleeved.

CwazyWabbit
Surely that's a typo ? Even if they were custom made in titanium you can't see them being that price ?!? The screws they put in my dogs leg when he broke it were £50 each and they were only tiny things .... makes them head studs look a bargain! Anderzander
I built a few racing motorbikes many years ago and used to buy my titanium fasteners from the states - much better prices than here. I even had a few large fasteners made up for suspension components and they still seemed to be working out cheaper than that set of head studs ..... RedLineMike
was discussing this recently, it should be 200+ with an expectation of around 220-230, but im considering giving the engine a freshen up as it may be slightly tired after 4 years of thrashings
landroversforever
Nice . Considered stroking it like Lara's?
