  1. Just got my NFU renewal - £500 now Having mods is the tricky one. I'll give Flux and Peter Best a ring - see what they can do.
  2. Thank you Ross - the flange felt smooth to the touch, but I definitely think its worth me swapping the flange out too.
  3. I have a periodic dry bearing noise sounding like its under the seat (not that I'm good at where noises are coming from) - I'm wondering if its the rear transfer box output bearing. Can anyone tell me how to check this ? The noise seem to be under drive - and not when I freewheel (which makes me think its not a wheel bearing?). When under real load I can't hear it - though that may be the increased engine and road noise masking it. I've had a long term leak from the rear of the transfer box, that seem to come back within 'moments' of replacing the seal. Also a growing clunk, which I'll turn my attention to afterwards - though it would be nice if it was two symptoms of one issue. Any suggestions of anything else to check would be welcomed. I've re-greased the prop UJ's and wiggled them with a pry bar and not detected any play. Stephen

  5. How hard are the standard pins to drift in and out ? I have a door stiffening up a bit, it would be nice to knock the pin out clean it back up and pop it back in as a temporary fix ....?

  8. OOo sorry - I got mixed up with dirty diesel.... I'm having trouble with my memory map though - I'm hoping I've not just lost all my overlays! If thats the case you might best have a look on trailwise to get the Welsh routes.

  10. My main present was a rocket launcher - and after failing to find the unpleasant drivetrain noise I currently have - there was only one outcome really.
  11. Is the starter motor turning at all? if not then maybe have a look at the earth from the ECU. Is the starter solenoid clicking but its not turning over? if so then the contacts in your solenoid are favourite.
  12. Some of those programs I've quite enjoyed - but I always turn it off at the start of the cringeworthy section where MB trys to sell the car.

  14. Ralph, Is yours the Defender 200 ? if so do you have a picture of your dip stick? I have a 200 with a 300 turbo and I'm wondering if the Defender dip stick will fit better.

  17. On mine I had to space them out because they were miles out from fitting in the holes and having the bottom rails flat on the wheel boxes. I also wrapped them in a short section of inner tube.
