Hi
Fitting a forward facing fold up in the back of my 110 3 door, I'd like to mount it as forward as poss to keep the space and to be more sociable when it's in use, can I fit the upper belt mount to the gutter and the strengthening rib on the side or does it have to be between the gutter and the corner panel ( ie seat at back of load bay).
Hope the above is clear!

FWIW I just bought some mini spots off BoB ebay site, they aren't the best all singing all dancing ones but for £25 for 4 inc bulbs I'm not bothered, TBH they run the very real risk of colliding with a branch at some point anyway! They were delivered promptly and I had email status updates regularly, I personally would order off them again. Maybe the rules imposed by eBay 'encourage' good customer service?
I would love some daylighters or the HID ones but they are £££££££

it should fit in the back of a lwb sprinter etc, i picked mine up in a luton type tail lift, it fitted with the front sticking in the over cab bit

Costco do a bigger one than the alloy one, mine is still goin strong after lots of abuse, it will lift a standard 109 until there's about 9" under the tyres, but still goes very low profile so fits under most cars eg old mini
I would recommend storing it with friends/relatives who can start it up once a week for you and let it run for a bit, otherwise you may start running into problems with FIP drive seals drying out etc... If you can't find a temperature or humidity controlled environment I'd give a mate the keys and let them use it, Land rovers seems to last better when used regularly than stored long term, IMHO

Hypothetically the most it would cost would be a nice new galv chassis, what state is the rest in, it might make hypothetical sense to swap the chassis rather than repair it, I think you would need to go over the measurements extremely carefully to check the potential accident has not warped the rest of the chassis

Hi welcome to the forum
you don't give any details about yourself? from bitter experience, being young, living in a carp postcode and driving a modified defender makes most companies run a mile!
There are loads of old BMWs and mercs around because unlike british cars, they came out of the factory with some underseal on, and now you can buy a proper RWD german saloon with all the toys, that is as reliable as the tide, for approx £4.95!
Ok here you go, sorry for the delay! these were taken before painting so the rivet line is now blended in and the underside is undersealed to match the chassis/tub

its just 3mm treadplate bent up to fit under the arch with a flange bent up to allow much silicone and rivets through the tub, I can put my foot through the hatch and it takes my full weight so strong enough!

Never mind getting muck in your eye, try keeping a steady hand whilst fishing it out with the needle at 3am when someone decides they can't sleep and they need to go to A&E!

I made my own out of some left over treadplate, internal access so better security, I don't think they are quite as big as the military ones but I can still fit a load of valuable treasures junk in there!
I will put some pics up later if you like

Having messed around with most of the above options I have decided to pay the (lot of) money and get the La Salle one, I think Steve on here has one in a truck cab and it looks the dogs danglies!
Just got to earn the money for it now!
