  1. but I have to get to work even if its mildly damp outside? LOL
  2. Your dad said you'd managed to shoehorn the cummins in! How have you got on with the axles? did you ever have standard ones on? Happy Christmas and new year by the way! Mike
  3. I fitted posh new one piece galv doors, then promptly rolled the car (not me driving) now I have cheap series door bottoms, posh rocky mountain tops and 1 piece series doirs on the 2nd row which I will be fitting rocky mountain window channels to, with perspex instead of glass, that way next time I break it I won't be crying like a girl! The rocky tops really are a massive improvement!
  4. if youre worried about warping get them plated, my bulkhead cost £40 to get zinc electroplated
  5. lol, I'm a trainee surgeon, apparently I'm supposed to have clean hands!
  6. WOW, what a difference! Picked up off ebay for £107 delivered, absolute pleasure to use, perfect flares from the first go! Recommended! Mike
  7. here you go, plenty to choose from... http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/index.php?cPath=74_75&osCsid=0s5ob54cj9i7rhm86cedhei7v6 Mike
  8. well my dad got quoted £730 to replace the front to rear and all rear lines on his e class estate so in a way its already paid for itself!
  9. Cheers, have ordered the flaremaster 2, looked good in the video instructions!
  10. I saw all the laser/draper/sealey professional ones around 150-190 but ideally I'd rather not stretch that far if possible as I'm not running a garage! I saw a couple of sealey ones around the £100 mark, any good?
  11. Hello I'm fed up of my POS Clarke kwality flaring tool and need to flare some 3/16 steel pipe on a repair job, please could someone recommend a decent tool that A works on steel as well as copper/kunifer, B can be used on the car, C isn't several hundred pounds and D I can buy tomorrow in Liverpool! Thanks Irritated of Sandiway!
  12. my internal bit swapped straight over on my 200tdi, why not take the skins off and get the frame plated and then coated, no corrosion ever then? mike
  13. the newer steel one are lighter, stronger and most importantly galvanised, they are a fairly simple swap you'll need to trim the door card slightly, I was very happy with mine, I got some slightly scratched factory seconds for £400 the pair, shame some idiot dropped a defender on them shortly after they were fitted, replaced with series doors as I'll cry less when they get battered!
  14. Hi Anyone know if their local Costco has the (?csps?) Stainless or black tool chest/cab combo in stock, the Liverpool one hasn't had one for a while and I need a bigger box! Ta Mike
  15. I fitted a yrm one to mine (I'm converting from hard top) and it fitted perfectly and appears very well made, service and delivery excellent too, would recommend... Mike
  16. my 2p You can go bananas and carry all the stock from a resus bay but to be honest theres not much point, assuming you are in the UK you are lucky enough to be (usually) within a short time/distance of help. You run the risk of fighting an exponentially increasing equipment list, i.e. theres no point having IV access devices if you then don't carry fluids/drugs/giving sets etc... FWIW I'm a doctor, who has trained in A&E, and is a advanced trauma and life support provider, I carry the standard first aid kit that came with my car, a variety of guedels, a pocket mask, and make sure my phone is always charged.... I would of course take more stuff with me if I was off into the middle of nowhere... As with all these things making sure your training is refreshed regularly is more important than the equipment. Mike (bored sitting waiting for my bleep to go off!)
  17. I use N-drive for uk and co-pilot for france, happy and impressed by both Mike
  18. I have the rocky mountain door tops and they seem to fit very nicely, not tried them in anger yet though
  19. Another vote for brake/clutch cleaner...
  20. for future reference I took my stripped engine to the local engine builders / recon place, they charged me £10 to put all the bits through their industrial dishwasher thing, did a superb job and no risk of being strangled!
  21. the rubber is for noise / vibration as well, you just need 6mm rubber sheet and cut to fit, I would definately use it
