  1. Yeah I've got the "slots'n'straps" method on the Ibex. Its okay there because the treebars sit proud of the roof, and so it was easy to do. With MogLite the roof/cage are as one. If I put 2" tall brackets on the roof - I will have trouble getting it in/out of the garage
  2. I'm gonna put some brackets on my MogLites cage for putting waffles/sand ladders/bridging ladders on the roof - its the only space I've got. Bolting them down front and rear is the obvious choice, possibly with wingnuts. But has anyone had any success with any other fittings such as pins and r-clips Antiluce fittings (like series tailgates) Any thing else ?
  3. Thanks for all the pointers There was indeed a hatch in the boot floor Stupid previous owner/mechanic had extended the return line by 2" with a joiner and a 2" piece of pipe. That little 2" piece of pipe had gone porous and was p155ing out fuel. Taking some of the slack from the return line, gave me ability to join the hose back to the pump - why the hell didn't they do that ? Muppets
  4. Media Man strikes again. It will be cereal packets and mainstream TV for you next
  5. You'd think so, but...... The sunset time is the earliest around 12/13/14th December. I think Al is talking about France, or some strange Paegan festival where he dresses up in animal skins etc etc.
  6. Yeah that sounds easy - like your style - as it will be by MagLite tonight. Thanks
  7. For the peeps in the UK This is going to be the darkest weekend of the winter, the shortest day is early next week. <Grabs coat> We've almost got over the worst of the winter...........
  8. Well my 3.9 EFI has got this fuel leak. Symptoms are, doesn't leak when stationary with engine off Doesn't leak as engine starts and runs Starts leaking from the tank area about 45 secs after the engine starts I'm therefore guessing its the return for the EFI where it enters the tank. I'm kinda hoping I can lift the rear carpet, pop the fuel pump cover and uncover a perished pipe, loose connection, broken fitting. Is this a common fault ? Anything else I need to look out for ? I've sold the car and the geezer wants to collect tomorrow !! I've got a spare tank and pump, but I don't want to drop the tank if I can help it
  9. With that spec, it would have to be Land Cruiser 80 series This is the first link I came across. A 110 cabin is just not a place I'd want to spend a lot of time - but thats just my preference. Not in your budget - or mine alas but this would be on my Christmas list Based on 2.5DSE Rangie possibly - seems that one has Rangie seats in it - yum.
  10. Ben Early in the New Year, let people recover from Christmas. I've got to get it MOT'd and tarted up for sale - nothing major.
  11. Pushing the pistions back in the calipers in a PITA, when changing the pads etc. Would one of these help ? Seems like it will be pretty universal Or is there a better design ?
  12. With an Ibex, you'll need to get hold of a complete defender bulkhead, to strip off the pedals, column dash and loom etc. Obviously I'm biased But advantages of an Ibex over a Tomcat etc * Decent doors, and therefore the option of a warm dry cab * Option of station wagon/king cab * Awesome build quality * Cheap and easy to replace GRP wheelarches, all the rest is ali/galv * Will last a lifetime * Centre winch is pretty cool and useful on challenges * You get a new chassis Tomcat would be lighter, and has a ARC spec cage, whereas the Ibex has a spaceframe that the ARC can't get their head around Tomcat build quality.... I'm sure V8camel will be along in a minute
  13. I'm so going off of you lot Come to London and I'll show you lot a night out
  14. In a vague attempt to get more traffic on my eBay pages for my Rangie Rover I also have a question and answer section. Questions and answers - You have to read from the bottom of the page to the top !! Or if that link is for the seller only - try this oneMy Rangie for sale

  21. My daily driver (Vauxhall Omega) is fitted with the same engine as the P38a - well the turbo diesel version. Hence my post here. I've got a hot stalling/restarting problem. The fix (temporary) is to pour cold water over the injection pump Does anyone know what sensor etc is in the pump that might be causing me issues. Thanks
  22. Drums fingers on desk Its after the weekend - I wanna see what you are up to Anyone got any comments on the off the shelf anchors out there ?
  23. Saw that at Beaulieu a few weeks ago. Bloody spectacular What I never realised was, its METALLIC
  24. Took me right by (unpleasant) surprise when I heard that in the car this morning. Be interesting to see the reaction to an ex-world champion, as opposed to an ex-alcoholic from the public.
