  1. at last some sense in here, main reason why my spaceframe is made from blueband instead of cds,
  2. on a 300tdi ive never bothered with worrying about if cylinder 1 is at tdc, unbolt vacum pump & refit as required
  3. you can, but just because you can doesnt mean its a good idea, personally id drive it for a bit more whilst loking out for another box, that way you can still change it & have the current box rebuilt, if you weld it it the box & transfer box become scrap if anything else goes like a syncro etc
  4. but i bet it would work bloody well as a class 5 trialler, having driven a tdi powered single seater in class 5 with a welded diff upfront it went everywhere it was pointed, tbh for 2k its pretty cheap trialler
  5. if you give malcolm @ whitbread offroad a ring (01570 421 427), i know he will be able to make you a pair like that
  6. james, any idea on the dates of the j33p event @ 7s & are not road legal vehicles allowed?
  7. ive tiger sealed one up in the past which worked for about 6 months, last time i had it off i put a heavey tack or 2 around it to stop it mouving & so far so good (this is on a td5 challenge truck)
  8. thats rich fear (exmod90) you need to find it for, i dont have a thug
  9. i had an issue when i first plumbed my td5 into my challenge truck & it was caused by the thermostat in the fuel cooler sticking closed, basically would run fine, get hot & blow the coolant out, removed the thermostat & it appeared to work better, was only on disasembling a burst fuel cooler i found the thermostat im assuiming you have the pipe work as it should be in a standard car & not having it plumbed different?
  10. hmmm its actually the green ones i use, ohwell close enough, i found out a few years back im allergic to the poweder used in latex gloves, the nitriles are much better & so far found that only petrol & "good quality" thinners melts them, the box i have @ work i think has 200 gloves in a box rather than the normal 100
  11. i wear mediums of these every day doing painting / welding fabwork etc http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANSELL-TNT-TOUCH-N-TUFF-BLUE-DISPOSABLE-GLOVES-NITRILE-/190568363184?pt=UK_BOI_Medical_Lab_Equipment_Medical_Supplies_Disposables_ET&hash=item2c5ec274b0
  12. not sure exactly where the hole is drilled, but theres an extra breather to the front of the box, on simons it would do it @ 90-100deg c which isnt hot for the box but only on climbs or on obstacles with the nose up,
  13. dan, does your box only have the 1 breather @ the back of the box? simons used to blow the oil out the box & it was cos the breather was being covered by oil on climbs & being blown out the the heat ashcroft drilled & tapped a 2nd breather for us in simons new box @ the front & so far this problem hasent returned
  14. as a slight spin off from this, how much stronger is a M10 12.9 cap screw in comparison to an M8 12.9 cap screw?
  15. the bit that makes the hazards come on after a hard bump is in the 10as unit not the crash switch, had a slight off last night in my challenge buggy & the hazards wouldnt stop flashing no matter what i did, i have no flasher relays & no crash switch, traced it back to the 10As & as my ecu has the immob removed ive since junked the 10as & no hazards flashing now, to give an idea of the impact i landed in a drainage ditch @ 40mph to a dead stop nose first,
  16. but since when have twisted ever used a dyno to prove the output ?
  17. Hi Bob, It was whitbread offroad that were selling the disco protection, if you give malcom a ring on 01570 421427 he will be able to sort you out with a kit,
  18. my only suggestion is leave it alone & step away from the tools
  19. Si, could you pm me with how much your after for one of you cf18s?
