  1. It might last another 5 years or it might give up tomorrow - get it sorted before you get stuck somewhere remote.
  2. i fail to see why or how an issue at my end would be generating the driver issue mentioned - having said that since i posted my orginal msg it does appear to be back to it's normal speed - fingers crossed all is now well again
  3. go the same IPS driver issue here first thing, and now it's just slowwwwwwwww for the amount of money you guys are paying for the hosting you really should be getting a much better level of service - but then you probably know that allready
  4. yes, self lighting as well
  5. i wonder if i used that special invisible font when i typed post 16 here - £60 would have got you a very robust battery from any of the numerous farmers shops in or around stafford - the one i'm currently using is well over 5 years old and has never onc elet me down dispite daily abuse you'll not find a real farmer using one of those fancy expensive batteries in any of their vehicles
  6. dont go to halfords for it - just find your nearest agricultural supplier and ask for a tractor battery (the biggest one that will fit)
  7. THink you meant to say a 555 timer chip - not a 777
  8. i've just done both on a S3 and it took about an hour each to chop clean align and weld that's ignoring the numerous hours it took to take off the springs and associated items this is the sort of job that is much more economical to DIY as a garage is going to be charging you £25/h just for some basic spanner works
  9. youd be better off wrapping tin foil around a toilet roll than use that stuff - it's just got no real strength CAF hose is what you want http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Auto-Performance-...1QQftidZ2QQtZkm
  10. carry a standard spare with you
  11. buy yourself a welder, it'll pay for itself many many times over no landy own should be without one
  12. have you spoken to http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk/ yet ?
  13. In defence of those at Craddocks I live less than 10 miles from their store so over the years have been there 100s maybe a 1000 time and have spent sometimes pennies often many pounds and have NEVER had a issue with them. They are human beings so if you go in there with the wrong attitude it's very possible some of your attitude might be reflected back at you.
  14. it would be very easy to do - but how do you propose converting it to a usable MPH figure as it would JUST tell you how fast the drum was rotating ?
  15. is it better/cheaper than petrol (as a cleaner) ?
  16. doesnt the wrong end of a 9mm drill bit do the same trick ?
  17. because the grill on some early 90/110s sits more forward so unless you have lights that dont protrude backwards they'll not fit
  18. you'l find they are sooooooo noisy on tarmac picked up a near new set on very clean rims from ebay for £50 the other day, can't go wrong for that price
  19. just get underneath and try shaking the prop ends - easy to see the play and easy to replace
  20. and which non elected post are you on about then ? if he's doing such a bad job down there why does he keep getting re-elected, each time with an increased percent of the vote ?
  21. they are orrible nasty unreliable things - better to spend a bit more for a better product such as http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?LIN-USB54R
  22. yes - no amount of "gel" will stop the drive eventually getting damaged - but do you really need a PC on while "offroading"
  23. it's been used in industry for many many years for braking both DC and AC motors
  24. a quick injection of reverse voltage does the trick - an oft used method
