  1. not known as an essex5 for no reason, are you a secret footballer?one would assume mrs nige wears black framed sunglasses, even at night?
  2. nige, you don,t have to take the body off,but you have to cut a 2" hole in the floor!!!my mate does them for suffolk police.
  3. not wishing to upset will any further, make sure you check the 2011 blue book, the msa have changed a lot of spec due to them lagging behind fia regs for a number of years, the fia spec will have to be adopted for national as well as international specs.getting a home built cage past an msa scrutineer next year will not be easey, the last i heard was msa log books are looming for challenge vehicles too.
  4. sorry, but you do not have to have a bumper legally,as long as there are no sharp projections.
  5. don,t laugh but lidle supermarket have a 1/2" drive set on promo at the moment, about £30,plenty good enough for diy use,i bought one of there 1/4 drive sets 6 years ago, still going strong, used most days.
  6. ihave a d90,i really need something bigger,we have 2 ford rangers on the farm, the parts cost is horrendous,it would stop me buying one,all the jap crew cabs seem to have issues somewhere, defenders also have issues, but on the whole are cheaper to repair,i am now on the look out for a 110 van if any one knows of one for sale,my 90 will then be up for grabs,300 tdi, full canvas ,no rot, drives superb, and yes i will want good money for it and i know i will get it!
  7. did you not point out all vehicles on premises are left at owners risk?they sure as hell would try that one with a customer.
  8. best will warne doesn,t post pics of his roll cage welding on there then!!
  9. zim try brian legge trailers and richard weston engineering, both in suffolk, you should be able to google them, they both buid agri trailers, you could also try agri hire in ipswich, they manufacture all there own rental machines.
  10. matt lee of mach 5 fame used to do wheel centers, several of the aggricultural machinery manufacturers should be able to make them too,
  11. i spent 3 years in germany when i was in the raf, there is a german alcoholic spirit known as white corn, was actually cheaper than screen wash so that is what we all used in the washer bottle, was as rough as guts to drink though!!my current 90 is still wearing a full canvas this winter, not found it much colder than the hard top last year, with the viscous fan removed it warms up fairly well, but i think the average over night temp in coastal suffolk is about -2 so far,a far cry from my native s****horpe, that was -16 at 6a.m monday morning.
  12. yes it is illegal to use studs in the united kingdom, unless of course they are on rugby boots.
  13. try duncan at britcar uk,if when you first order from him you specify no britpart he will log it against your details for future orders,01206 391350.
  14. just suppose it appeared in the landrover comics as a factory styling exercise for a new lifestyle vehicle then some of you may have taken a different view, hats off to the bloke for trying something different.
  15. i used late type rrc headlights with decent bulbs in my 90,far far better than the sealrd beams, bonus was they came from a motor i was breaking.
  16. chap i worked for in the late 80,s was an agent for sprintex,he did a couple of 3.9 efi rrc, went very well as i remember.
  17. use a genuine part donut, they are made by gkn, other pattern ones are pretty poor and don,t last long.
  18. when you read his text you have to admire his gaul,if he keeps trying like that he could stand as a labour mp next election.
  19. if the latest transits are anything to go by the puma defender will become an expensive liability to own, injectors, flywheels, cyl head probs, the list goes on.
  20. jeramy fearn will do the bmw conversion for you,can be made to fit a hybrid r380 box using p38 parts,a bit long in the tooth now but the mazda slt 35 engine was a superb conversion, they still crop up from time to time.
  21. the caliper is fitted to jcb tele handlers, try model number 531-70.
  22. as an ex serving raf engineer, having spent time attatched to an raf regiment squadron i tend to agree with sas pinkies comments, the sas are governed to a degree by mod purchasing policy, but they have a free hand in developing vehicles, which is one of the reasons why they have stuck with landrover,as they have to be able to maintain them them selves in theatre, but hey what do i know?
  23. thats why there prefered vehicle in the 80,s and early 90,s was the range rover classic then!
  24. sas pinkie ,a member of this forum has a wealth of knowledge on special forces vehicles, hopefully he will see this thread and comment...........................
