  1. BLRC in Saintfield had it in 5ltrs for a raesonable price last time I was down - but that was 6mths ago, it does come in under different names, do a google and see what uo can get - I think it may have been texaco or redline or something? I never had any success finding it locally and the postage didn't make it worth whilst. Steve
  2. Thanks Nick, mines a second / third car too, only the kids always want to go camping too, so have to cater for them, theyr're sort of excluded from the 90 as it's a truck cab. I'm starting to put the interior back together again after finishing replacing the bottom 6" of the body lol, so will get measuring soon. Already have the google app but need to get some more practise - I'm used to using Autocad and it's alot different. Thnk I've found a local source for used plastor boxes, just need to sus it out now. I've a collection of off cuts for the bosch rexroth 40mm profile so will use that if I can, or just a plain steel unit. Jason - started reading that thread - lots of ideas there, see where your inspiration came from. Found this sort of linked to one of the tag lines from a Canadian guy, love the simplicity of it. http://www.overlandcanada.com/forum/showthread.php?t=698&page=3 May develop that a bit and add a few drawers to the bottom for the the stuff that stays in the truck - or just blatantly copy it Thanks, Steve
  3. Starting to take shape Mike. I like to trial fit lights & shiney parts etc too lol.
  4. How did you get it so clean - ultrasonic cleaner or something? Nice workshop with the fire appliances in the background lol...
  5. Cheers Guys - had seen Ralph's site a few few years back but lost the link to it with a hdd crash - very useful evolution and handy ideas for space saving tips etc. Thanks Jason - the ep link will take a whilst to read lol.. Had used plastor esd stuff before in work projects - very good, never thought of them tbh, have to measure up and see what will fit when I get the seats etc back in again. Plenty to get started with - start gathering stuff up. Thanks Steve ;-)
  6. Folks I'm nearing the end of the welding on the Disco project. Thankfully - i've taken my limited time with it tbh, and rebuilt most of the other stuff as I've gone along / aquired the parts required off ebay within my budget. I want to build some sort of 'rack' or storage drawer & racking system to provide safe and easily accesed storage for all the gear that used to go into the back of the 110 csw. I'm inspired by a couple of these projects by Mahon257 & JasonG4110.. http://forums.lr4x4....p?showuser=7658 & http://forums.lr4x4....200#entry665597 Unfortunatley I'm on a budget so can't go out and buy a MSS unit, so will have to go down the diy route, fortunatley I do have fabrication skills and access when I ask nicely to a well equiped workshop. Critera is: Retain the 5 seats - don't intend to use the rear dickie seats. So just the boot section. Already have a set of the mss window guards and decent dog guard to stop stuff thrashing about , breaking etc. Be removable with minimal work - so bolt in. Be capable of access all of my gear without emptying the entire contents onto the roadside to get to the thing I need on the bottom. Thinking of using those very heavy duty palstic boxes as used by the office mover type people i.e http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1438.l2649 . Don't have a proper fridge yet - might use my 3 way fridge or the big coleman extreme coolbox for now - but plan to get an engle or waeco / similar at some stage. Use one of the ally rear door cards and modify to accept a cooker / perhaps support one end of a table - the roof tent has a room/extension if the weather is poor. I've access to a limited amout of free 'used' bosch aluminum 40mm profile - so thought I would use that for the main frame - I can't weld alu really very well, and don't want the weight of a steel frame. Lends itself to realatively easy changes etc. Anybody got any good ideas/ proven systems / photos of thiers to fuel my imagination / develop my idea & plans before I start cutting stuff up? Cheers Steve
  7. Have fun Jim - all fairly normal for a Disco - yours actually isn't the worst I've seen, all fixable if you take your time, and seal it all up again properly. Only economically feasable if you do it yourself. Steve
  8. Fairly sure that Vehicle wiring products do them - sorry don't recall what their official name is. http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-onlinestore/home/homepage.php Steve
  9. Only the drivers / off side in the uk afaik.
  10. The repair kit works ok - but as said above a faf of a thing to fit - hard to get the screws into the hard plastic below the vinyl covering, windscreen gets in the way.
  11. On the 96 MY trucks there's a microswitch on the back of the door key tumbler. Steve
  12. Ok so I have set of vented discs for the front and new calipers, pads etc for the back of the project 300TDi XS Disco. It has ABS. Defender Vented - single pipe calipers seem to be a bit scarce and new are a bit out of my budget at the minute. Would prefer oem lockheed etc. I know that RR classic had a vented option albeit with the twin pipe arrangement - will these work with a T piece / two pipes from one feed, presumably the volume of brake fluid won't be much / any different as the defender units must have a similar hydraulic circuit internally? Are these smaller than the defender version? What about TD5 / Disco 2 stuff, I know the stub pattern is different, but what about the calipers - where these all vented, will the mounting bolts / pitch / offset etc be suitable - anybody done it? Thanks, Steve
  13. Did you get what you were after?
  14. Think I'm all sorted now thanks for the offer Stuck!
  15. Wanting to buy a LR branded / related item off ebay, seller won't post, would anybody be prepared to collect and stick it in a box, perhaps with a bit of packing and let a courier collect in return for some beer tokens to cover his or her expenses / time? PR5 6xx area. It's not to big or heavy, approx 450 x 400 x 350mm 11kgs. Please PM me.... Cheers Steve
  16. Yes they do! Ambersill and a few others do very good ones too! http://www.3mselect.co.uk/p-2239-3m-general-purpose-adhesive-cleaner-1-litre-tin.aspx or http://www.3mselect.co.uk/p-1019-3m-citrus-cleaner-adhesive-remover-spray-500ml.aspx The ambersill one is 'Label and Adhesive Remover FG' - again a citrus based stuff. I've used this on many LR things - works a treat. http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/cleaners-degreasers-polish/0491724/ MEK will do a similar job too - essentially nail varnish remover, but will probably smear all over the place due to the polar / non polar nature of the solvent - I work with adhesives all day. Steve
  17. http://www.paddockspares.com/err3339-fuel-injector-new-manufactured-by-bosch-300tdi.html?___SID=U otherwise buy a used set off ebay and have them reconditioned - not sure what would work out best. Don't forget to get the copper washers etc as well as some copper grease for putting them back in again. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-rover-defender-discovery-300tdi-injectors-x-4-/160806735957?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2570d41055 Steve
  18. A defender one wouldn't work straight out of the box, you'd also need some sort of way to attach it to either the door hinges, bummper / chassis - or take off the rear qtr panel and fab som brakets onto the steel shell / 'd' post under the alu qtr panel - it's way too light to hold the carrier - a defender one bolts to the rear cross member, rear qtr panel along the body cappings, and has a swiveling attachment to the existing spare wheel mounting point on the door.
  19. Can't comment on the TD5 one but the VW variant will start to litterally 'throw it out of balance', you'll think your driving a van with an old single cylinder lister dump truck engine in the front. Steve
  20. Just look up a bosch diesel service place near you inthe yellow pages / internet etc and get your curent ones reconditioned! Ebay has gone daft recently for 300tdi bosch stuff, last set I bought was £60 - they're typically x 3 that now. Steve
  21. Well in case that one doesn't work out here's another lol... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DISCOVERY-II-16-SPARE-WHEEL-COVER-1998-2006-/390422457869?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5ae6fdee0d
  22. Is this what your after Martin? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AFZ700010MNH-Land-Rover-Discovery-2-Spare-Wheel-Cover-/110883707034?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19d12f189a
  23. Mike you've been busy! Are you going to use some sort of mechanical fixings / have the corners welded or just rely on the araldite for the frame and the skin bonding for overall strength? Good to see some prep and the jig to ensure they're all the same and square. Steve
  24. Here's a pair of td5 ones - the holes & fixing points might already be on the body for these - and reasonably close by too. Don't know what sort of cash these might go to, reserve has to be £50 min anyways? Steve http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Landrover-Discovery-TD5-Leather-Dickie-Seats-/280885008834?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41660d19c2
