  1. i would have thought the 130 would be classed as a pick up.....not sure about the others though.
  2. LuK have just released a DMF test kit. the luk number is 400 0080 10, not sure on the pricing though.
  3. not sure on the rest of it, but all bars fitted after 97 should have an ec approved 50mm ball on them, identified by being gold in colour. found this; blatantly borrowed from www.watling-towbars.co.uk it also states;
  4. Ifor Williams all the way. brother has got 3 of them, one tipper, two plant, and i regularly tow one to south wales with hay/straw on it and they are a dream to tow with, never snakes (even with 110 bales on it ). spares are plentiful too. Brian James are a clone of the Ifor's, but IMHO not as well built (they look the same, but it's like the good old fashioned coke/pepsi debate ) One thing to watch though, if you get a flat tyre on an Ifor, buy a new wheel and tyre as there is only about £5 difference (something like £70 for the tyre, and £75 for a wheel with tyre fitted ??)
  5. didn't they change the law recently on air con work? IIRC you are supposed to be properly trained to do the job safely - if so, how can Halfraud's sell home regass kits ???
  6. gaffa tape wouldn't fix it, and the hammer method was deemed inapropriate too
  7. Afternoon guys n gals. Does anyone have the measurements of a roof light bar for a disco 1? looking for general dimensions as in length, height of the end supports, distance forward from roof etc.. as i am planning on making one from some spare steel box that i have (plus it will give me a bit more technical welding practice ) cheers all.
  8. get a garage to add some U/V detector dye to the coolant system, make the leak easier to trace if it's external. didn't the TD5's have a problem with the bottom rad connections too?
  9. Nice Job there. That does look like a standard gasket though - none of the BGA ones we have here have got the orange goo on them, v.strange.
  10. true, thieving bar stewards should be shown no sympathy by the victims they leave behind. Let's open a new colleseum and chuck them in there, with a few very hungry large kitty cats to play with then. the other version would have sounded like morse code if we had a swearing bleeper
  11. no comment on what should be done, the language i would use to describe them would get me banned
  12. you may have to make up your own set using universal shapes and sizes, try these guys; http://www.performancesiliconehoses.com/index.html
  13. do you want a replacement one? i know of one going for £75 brand new, was bought by a friend with a 3.5, was going to put it back onto the road, but it has terminal tin worm so it's off to RR heaven soon
  14. We had a similar problem here last wekk. One of our vans had an altercaion with the back of a Lexus (of all things) and went off to be repaired. It came back with the wing and the bonnet a different shade of white to the rest of it. First fob off we got was that the rest of the van was dirty and needed to be cleaned (this is an 07 van) then they told us that they only had one shade of white listed for Peugeot, they are now having it back to repaint it. If you are not happy take it back, and tell your insurance co. too as they are the ones who will be paying the repairers. From what i am aware of, it should return to you in a satisfactory state.
  15. according to my autodata cd, 19L code is 1995-1998 2.5tdi tuned for auto transmissions with a 90kw power output. the rest of the code is usually just the serial number assigned by the manufacturer
  16. blimey £29.75 for a Disco/RRC inner wing repair section, that's a cracking price - and the outer sills too
  17. they were available in black too. mine is a cut down version, as it had been chopped about to remove an engine
  18. isn't it the same turbo as the Rover 200/400 2.0 Diesel? I remember reading somwhere that it was cheaper to ask for a Rover 420 Diesel turbo than a Freebie one
  19. this may be useful http://www.alternate-energy.net/batteryamphours03.html
  20. doesn't the HDC utilise the ABS system, could be part of the fault (not too clued up on the "new" stuff, but anythings worth a go) ? vehicle speed sensor fault on the 'box? are they standard wheels/tyres? if they are different size from standard won't that confuse the speed sensor into thinking it's travelling faster than it is?
  21. isn't it the LRM show @ Billing 18-20 July? http://www.lrmshow.com/
  22. not sure about cost at the moment - will have to ask the guy who owns it later. Possibly be able to get it couriered, will have to check with DHL or the like.
  23. technically yes, should cost about £100-£150 for a check and certificate. i am getting about 14-16mpg on the gas, but when you compare to petrol, it works out equivalent to 32-ish mpg. we are breaking a 3.5 classic with LPG down here in the next few weeks, LPG kit is twin tank setup too.
  24. brilliant news! bet you are glad to get it back. especially with Billing a couple of weeks away too...
  25. there are plenty of options about, IIRC the 200/300tdi's will fit the 'box? I think you would need an adaptor plate though (someone will correct me if i am wrong) But, bear in mind that at the moment it may be cheaper to stick with the LPG (I am spending less on fuel running the v8 to work and back, than i was with my old 200tdi, especially with diesel prices being so ridiculous
