western
Yes, I put new rotors & relief valve & spring into the pump, thought with all the new internals the pump needed to be the best it could be. I use Mahle filter & Fuchs semi synth 10/40 oil.

Popular Post western
A update, engine hasn't reached 2000 hours since the rebuild, but it's not far off, my mileage has reduced a fair bit, not so many Motorsport events & daily drive to & from work is now done in my work van, my previous job at Culdrose finished last September when the contract ended & the Hawk aircraft were retired from service, so now I'm working as a Roadside breakdown technician for a local company & enjoying it So 110 is having a easy life, but today I started a timing belt change, it's all stripped ready for a new belt & tensioner (which I have) during the strip down 3 of the 4 crank pulley bolts heads sheared off, so tomorrow is to drill those out & clean the inner face of the front cover, think the crank front oil seal was leaking as the timing case was all oily, but belt is OK, I usually replace it at 55000 miles, so it's slightly overdue but still within the LR recommended 60000 miles. Got to wait now for a new fronr cover dust seal & crank front oil seal, 4 bolts for the crank pulley.
Anderzander
Glad you’re enjoying your work 😊 Tough luck on the bolts though - were they new when you rebuilt it ?
western
I can't remember if they were new, but they will be on reassembly, then when running again got oil & filters waiting to be replaced.

western
Don't think it's worth the effort David, the rubber is a bit perished on the rear face, it's 29 years old, got a new one & bolts coming.

Took these photos of the split in removed header tank. 1

western
Not as old as the black one I refitted, think about 8 to 10 years , looks like it had a flaw in the corner next to the mounting lug. Engine was run up to 80 degrees with no over pressure or leaks.
western
Got a new translucent header tank to fit at some point, just so it's easier to check the coolant level, Want to obtain a coolant pressure test kit just to be sure the cooling system is all fine
